Thanks for this season gone, i only joined and played the last 4 or 5 and loved it.

Finished decent in last 2 comps but "e" is still about right for me.

Hey all,

Curious as to if this has been said before or not. I have had this thought since I saw the addition of the new tour. Why is the "world tour" the highest tour. If its going to mirror the PGA season why not make the PGA for the best of the best? Also make Euro 2nd (mirroring its schedule as well. World Tour should be just after these higher than Web.com Tour. It would still have all the ranks. I know I'm new and all, but doesn't it make more sense?? Just some food for thought. Is this even something that can be changed at this point if brought to vote?

I do understand there is a way things have been for a period of time, but if you are making changes now why was this not thought of? Or has it been?

Prediction

The Top 10 of the PGA will outscore the Bottom 10 of Rocher

ergo the gap from the top to the bottom of the PGA will remain the same

ergo this whole thing is pointless. The PGA field is simply too big for there not to be a big spread.

As much as I hate this I am highly intrigued as to how it will turn out

Think its probably pretty likely that the top 10 PGA would outscore the Top 10 Rocher...  of the 140 guys in the PGA, there will be more than enough that can go low on any given day.  I don't think the change is to help the top 10 PGA guys (aka the 50-60 guys currently) since they were already competitive in the last season.

More interesting will be the guy who finishes 50th-70th in the PGA... how many strokes is he behind the top 10 of the PGA, vs how many strokes is he behind the top 10 of the Rocher.  Thinking this will likely be what shows if the split is worth it.

Yeah, the PGA list is a who's who of great TGC1 players and very competent TGC2 players who can certainly beat hackers like me on a regular basis.

Your 2nd point - the split was sold on the basis if the gap from top to bottom being reduced. Really don't see that happening on the PGA - but we'll see.

I've made a huge climb over the past few weeks, getting promoted from Web to PGA and having my WGR rise to 335. Curious to learn where that puts me (not in the PGA anymore I don't think). Either way it gives me a starting point for season 4 and a new goal to work toward.

There's just no denying that TGCT adds so much depth to a video game that would, for the most part, be about the awesome course designs people create. The tours give us the chance to play on those great designs while also getting that competitive spirit going. These admins give us a great experience for a video game. I'll be looking forward to season 4, no matter which tour I land on. See you soon!

On the "hot players" list (most WGR points last five weeks) you rank 203rd.  If I had to guess you are either at the middle/lower end of Euro or the Top end of Web.

If they use 40/70/70 for the top three tours as far as hot players go, and backfill the rest from WGR, it would be Web.  But I'm not 100% sure how they are going to manage this.  Like you, can't wait to see where I end up.

You could be right, who knows!  

All I know is that so far this year, I've been behind the leader on PGA by 18 strokes, 15 strokes, 27 strokes, 23 strokes, and 28 strokes.  Now I don't expect to actually win, but I've definitely been losing interest knowing that I'm not anywhere near on the same level as the top 10 guys. 

I'm hoping on PGA I'll at least feel like I'm playing the same game as the guys in my division.   Maybe fighting for a promotion to the Rocher and then fighting to not being demoted back down.

Actually yeah, you're probably right... think the PGA might be the top 70 WGR and top 70 hot players (that didn't make the Rocher).

After the World Tour is figured, then the PGA will be 140 players. Next 70 players in WGR not on World Tour taken first, then the other 70 will be the highest 'Hottest Players' not in that 'Next 70 in WGR'.  I have what I think are the World Tour and PGA by WGR rank (unofficial of course) here:

Just curious, why would they only include 70 people on a tour? Not all will play each week, and there would essentially be no cut then, right? And if there's no cut, then the strike & double strike system no longer works.
