I'm trying to make a chart.. But I have a cross wind at 8oclock blowing at 12mph. It seems to me that my chart won't be as exact? as I want because of that variable even if all my clubs have to deal with it.
I don't want any wind, what can I do?

Have you tried creating a hole in the designer and testing that way?

Best thing to do is not chart and play by feel. I was a chart person on TGC1, made it too.robotic and simple. Get the feel of what loft and wind does and wing it

I have not done this as I can't do the most basic things in the designer even, but some make a one course hole where they tee off into water all around them. They don't publish it, just keep it saved offline for themselves. Much easier to see exactly the yardage your ball flies in the air. Plus, I believe there is no wind (or very, very little) when play testing your courses. so don't have to worry about that.

I've thought about it,I didn't know it was possible to make a one hole course. I'll try it, im assuming I can set the wind how I like too. I was hoping with the driving range I could get it done quickly.
I've been going on feel for a while now but it's not working for me consistently. I know I gotta practice, the more I do I see myself getting better but when I stop and come back to it I stink again.
I hear the good players talk about a chart, for distances, to compare a fully lofted club to the normal club and see the difference. I have no idea how much it's affected. Plus the rollout distances on all clubs after it hits the grass.
I also gotta find if there's something with the chipping. Whether it stops or rolls,, maybe there is something I'm missing.
Thanks guys

You don't need a chart sure. Pick closest club to the yardage and loft or de loft a tad with tour clubs you'll get a good feel for the roll out anyway. Probably the only shots worth knowing would be your pitch shot lofts and chipping distances maybe your flop. I find with the spin on tour clubs it's great and it stops up nicely and I know I'm not at a huge disadvantage as tgc1 was all about lads charting and knowing roll out for the trampoline greens. No enjoyment going down that road for me personally but that's just my opinion , I play for fun not for a headache

It helps to know that a fully lofted 9i takes off about 45 yards..Do I ever fully loft anything, no, but I do loft a smidge sometimes. I never made a chart for tgc1, in fact I barely played it, while alot of you are veterans of the game and have made a chart before, therefore you have a better idea of what's what. I barely play tgc2, been waiting for tours to start, I don't shoot -40 like Alot of people seem too, I dunt even shoot -10 in a round, I overshoot the green or undershoot it too often, then gotta deal with the chipping which I haven't figured out what makes the ball roll or stop.
It's basically about knowing lofting distances. If you don't play alot it's hard to know, throw the wind in there, not easy. Irl caddies n golfers know, I think, how far the ball will go depending on what they do. Unless you play everyday and know by heart what distance will be with loft I think it's a smart move if you wanna be somewhat competitive.
Idk if I'll even use it cause usually idc, lol, but I feel like it's imperative to know what your distances will be with a loft. I've felt like I know it then I overshoot the green. What makes the game fun for me is competition and if I'm getting my butt whooped it's not fun

Have you tried creating a hole in the designer and testing that way? I built a 1 hole par 5 in designer, flat, winds 1 -3mph tw unpublished so I can hit shots over and over

problem is with this swing you can chart all you want but if you dont hit p/p and straight then you don't come close. Now add in wind and well good luck! Can't count how many times I thought I had everything charted and still got messed up because wind, or p/slow or fast and whatever!
But I did like others have said and make a large flat hole. like the whole plot and just hit shots. Since my biggest gap in my game is the short stuff and big elevation changes, I'm goinig to make like a 3 hole practice course where I can hit elevated chips and pitches as well as tee shots for par 3s.
