I thought I seen something about this before but it never got an answer.. I think it was the HB forums. About rollout on chips & lofts even if it perfect/perfect, outta sand, rough ect.. I can't tell whether the ball is gonna stop or roll.. If I don't loft it at all it'll sometimes stop, sometimes roll. There are times where I think it's impossible for roll back? Spin? (what's that word I thinking of) but it rolls back.. These are for shots within 10-50 yards of pin.
Does anyone know how to get rollout when wanted . esp on chips n lofts... And for that matter the reverse, how to get spinback on lofts, sometimes they roll.. I guess I could loft more but I give it enough where it's 50/50 if it rolls, stops, or spin back. 33/33/33

I find as long as you don't loft a chip shot then you'll get a few yards of roll out - even on shorter chips. Add plenty of loft if you'd like it to stop quicker. A slower downswing also seems to aid this.
Obviously you need to take into account the pin position, green slopes and your own lie for all this as well so even simple looking shots can become more complex with a bit of thought.
I do find it's more difficult to get lots of backspin in this version with the amount being dependent on where the shot lands and the amount of loft used in pitch/lob/normal approaches. Normal/lob shots will usually spin a bit more whilst pitch shots tend to leap forward on first bounce and run out slightly more depending on the green camber.

Thanks for response.. Idk I haven't been able to find a..method to the madness.. It all seems random,, I figured it was, like everything in tgc2, tempo, but even with perfect/perfect sometimes it rolls out, other times it stops.. And that's outta the rough, sand, & fairway just short of green... If it's perfect/fast or fast/perfect, I get the same random results..i can't find any consistency
I swear if I want it to roll it will stop if I want it to stop it'll roll.. I took a few days off, im gonna look closer at it. It's probaly just me.

It's not just you. I have posted several times about this on HB forums as other people have. HB has never responded to my question on why it spins out of the rough sometimes and not others.
If you go to chipping practice and find a rough lie and put mulligans on you can hit chip after chip with perfect perfect and some will spin some won't.
The only shirt game shot that is consistent for the most part is the pitch.

Im having a good game I chip it close to hole and it rolls back 5 feet or forward. Then I miss putt and I'm sick about it. There's gotta be something idk cause it seems like only you and a few others ever mention this. I dunt play golf in real life so I'm not sure if ball is supposed to rollout or stop from rough or sand but it should be consistent if all variables are the same, for the next time it comes up.

Out of the sand it will spin most times irl unless it's buried or plugged. You can get a lot of action out if the sand in a clean lie. I think they got that part right . Ironically you can chip out if the sand in this game which is questionable at best.
Very hard to get to spin out of the rough with a chip shot irl. It might check a little after a couple bounces but not the way it does in this game.
I think the pitch shot does what it's supposed to out of the rough. It comes out and will bounce a couple of times and then might check up depending on the green slope. So the programming is there.
I have tried man. Don't know what else to do or say about it.

I do try to play in real life and I was staggered by how realistic this game actually is. On short game on a real course, only serious pros can get consistency with every shot and all too often you will swear blind that you hit the one that you duffed exactly the same as the one that went beautifully, checked & stopped just shy of the cup but video evidence (if your local club pro has this) will prove beyond any doubt that it really was not the same at all, even though it honestly felt that way.

I have been seeing that the LW chip usually checks up, even from the rough. So if I want roll, I use the SW and take a shorter swing. Takes some practice but it's much more consistent.
