Maybe the winds were 24-28 mph and you had the glitch that doesn't show the 2 in the twenty part.

Using Doyle's formula it was 70-80% of the speed you subtract from the shot. Even subtracting 1 for 1, 5 mph = 5 yards I was still flying over the pin by 5 + yards on several of my shots. I'm off for a few days starting tomorrow - I'll give it a good look see and update the sheet if it is indeed true!

Yeah it just seemed off today.. not sure why but 3/4 of my round was off and like i said i got a calculator out cause I honestly thought i was doing something wrong.

I calculate it all in my mind. Not sure if I could shave a stroke with a calculator at my side, but I've got pretty good feel in the game now.

Haha
I often just guesstimate when in the heavy stuff as I've never seen any consistency out out it with the ranges given

True...I usually aim for the middle of the wider range, and miss long or short often...so it really is a random number generator for the stated range. Deep rough sucks- which is why I always advocate slight wider regular rough on courses. Deep rough should be for bad shots- not good shots which slightly roll thru the fairway and then the 6" wide rough into the first foot of the deep rough. Ugh!

After a great opening round of 62, went 67, 68, 65 for -26 total. I can't even blame it on the wind, as the windiest round I played in was my last round where I shot 65.
For whatever reason in rounds 2 and 3 I stopped hitting the ball straight. I think I missed the fairway 5 or 6 times in each round, and it wasn't like I was barely missing the fairway, I was MISSING it bad.
Oh well, at least I made the cut and I'm hoping -26 is good enough to be top 50 anyways.

Just minutes after Doyley let us know this was live, I was headed in, was going to play in what ever winds it gave me, loaded up the first hole, and to my surprise, a 1mph right to left wind greeted me, and the rest is history. First to get in 4 rounds in week 3 pga on pc, all but 2nd round, i was on fire: got lucky, did not have any issues with the less than 100% problem, i did hit one 87% shot that cost me a birdie chance (saved par) but that was just me trying to stop my swing cause I thought my backswing was bad. Put one ball in the water on a par 5 (2nd round) but managed to save par, no bogeys in this tourny, that's a first for me. dont expect to win by any stretch, but im damn proud of that scorecard. edit: still dont expect to win, but at least for now, I own this course (pc side)
