So this may be too soon for some, but I want to start a "series" of smaller contests with limited fields. These will be spread out so don't fear that it's going to be one after the other. My grand scheme is to create a small logo to attach to created course threads that identify these courses as being part of the Challenge Series. This could be fun over the coming months for those interested. The first challenge I think is a fun one. I'm going to post 14 names of fictional golf courses (any resemblance to a real life course is coincidental). It is up to you as a designer to build the course that you think best represents that name. Rules: - This will be on a first come first serve basis. The person that posts the name they want first gets it. It is a very limited field so get in quick if there is a name you really want. - Contest run from now until 12 pm on November 15th. I usually post the Invicta on the 15th, so this gives 2 1/2 months to get a course submitted as well as leaves time to breath before the Invicta contest is announced. This course will be judged in a "ranking" format, meaning they will be judged 1-14 with 1 being the winner. Once the contest is over, I will post one "position" per day with a live stream of that course with a small critique. - You must use the name chosen as the course name. That's part of the challenge. Beyond that, it's all up to you how you interpret the course. There are no guidelines on theme or difficulty. - The course needs to be a fresh course. Please no WIPS or ports. There's 2 1/2 months on this one, so should be plenty of time to get a course out without pulling your hair out. - This is meant to be fun, so do your best to not make it a grind. other than that...here we go: The Knolls - claimed by jivesinator

I know I said I was tried of contests, but hearing you talk about this in the stream it just sounded like tons of fun.

@griff, have an idea of how you'll do the judging for this one? Just you or will there be some sort of panel? I'd be more than willing to help out on the judging side if the need arises.
Going to sit this one out, need a few days to decompress after the push to finish the showdown course and have a concept in mind for my next project, but it's different than anything I've attempted before so want to go at my own pace with it. I anticipate I'll be ready to roll by the time the Invicta rolls around.
Sounds like a fun contest, though, and one I'll be keeping my eye on!
