So, I'm playing around with a new idea, and decided to bury some trees in order to get the texture changes I want. But, I also noticed I can create the look of little saplings by only burying them most of the way. The only issue is when it gets windy I'm worried the whole tree is going to sway, and since only the topmost bit is visible, it'll look like the tree is sliding back and forth across the surface. Anyone try something like this on a course and have any experiences/feedback?

I used half-buried trees almost exclusively on Bearded Pelican, although I generally left the entire tree canopy exposed. So far, I'm happy with the results.
I didn't bury the trees as much as you're suggesting, but I've seen large objects (like boats) buried before. They sway but it was only noticeable when up close, and it didn't bother me at all.

I buried a bunch of palm trees on my current course to make sawgrass bushes. They move a little, but it's not distracting at all.

Ended up pulling the mostly-buried trees I had on my course, since they were 80% underground, and right in front of the tee. It's definitely workable in the background, just maybe not in focus.

just put a bush in front of the trees and a little smaller...then a little grass in front of that. Just hide the bottoms. *shrug*

Dusty Lion east & West. Play it on a windy day and you'll have all kinds of buried trees to look at
