So I deleted the brick wall with railings and replaced it with a high metal fence and my meter dropped to less than 10% of what it had been.
Crazy.

Obviously still very rough work done so far, but I built a retaining wall on the 6th hole. Thinking about putting in some kind of shelf in front as a flower planter or something like that. In the trees to the right there is one of the two entrance roads, some of those trees will be going because the next hole hits over the road off the tee.

Hey, I'm in a 12-step recovery program for that. Interestingly, all of the steps are "Don't."

As ErixonStone mentioned, since Central Park has a lot of exposed rock formations - e.g.: I'm planning using this type of thing as a major aesthetic feature of the course itself (beyond the background features of the city). Here's an example of what I'm doing with the 11th hole: Might actually bring the bunker closer to the rock formation in the middle there, but leave the strip of grass in the middle. Will have to do some planting to blend a bit.

Coming along pretty well so far. Here's an overhead view (I added the first row of buildings before doing most of the planting so that I could tailor the planting to the background): Here's the second green:

Watching this with interest, looking very sharp. Love the look of #4 with the mulch/tree areas next to the wall. Thanks for the updates Chris!

This has certainly piqued my interest. Look forward to playing it when it's finished.

This looks really cool and unusual but the only thing I don't like is the grass .........
The heavy rough - light rough - fairway - green.
I just doesn't look right IMO. I would say personally have a play with your colours here but the concept and execution looks dogs balls to be honest!!

I usually don't made a final decision about textures until the end. Anyway, took a few days off but I'll get back to working on it today or tomorrow.

Hey Chris, I am super impressed with this concept and I'm really looking forward to playing this. I think this was a bold project to try, but it could turn out to be great! I agree with Shane in terms of textures, but I know you aren't finalized on that yet anyway. I think when you get the color palette finalized this course will be stellar. Great job, thanks for sharing the progress pictures with us. Can't wait to visit the city and book a tee time!

I keep checking for updates on this one and hoping it'll be published in the next 2 weeks or so. ...and that it plays a little easier than Aengus.
