I pre-ordered it this year. First time in years. I was always an NFL 2K guy so I never really got into Madden. Haven't played a football game in forever but I decided to get it this year. Will be fun to check it out.

This year's version tempts me. Last one I played was madden 11 on PS3. But I like the reviews and game previews I have seen. Alas, I probably will not get it. TGC takes all my free game time. Besides I already have a backlog of games that include:
Witcher 3 (only about 10% done) (PC)
Resident Evil 6 and 7 (PS4)
Mass Effect Trilogy (PS4)
Assassin's Creed Trilogy (PS4)
Prey (PC)
Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy (PS4)
And I plan to spend time playing all of these every week, yet week in and week out I spend all my gaming time with TGC2. As "quirky" as the game is.

Yep. Went and got mine on lunch from Best Buy as I had it preordered (Gamers Club Unlocked 20% off. Best deal in gaming). Usually Zack and I get our MUT Team going every year. The GOAT edition has 1 player to pick from it seems. Tom Brady/Jerry Rice/Barry Sanders/Deion Sanders/Ray Lewis
It has to be Tom Brady or Jerry Rice for my pick though. I will have to see what the son's Top 5 are in order and go from there who our player will be. Plus we get a elite player from a favorite team. I like the Bills and he likes the Raiders. Have to think we will go with the Raiders. The Bills for elite might be Shady McCoy. The Raiders must have Carr/Mack/Lynch I would assume.

Will be fun to check it out. Hated 2K. Always thought that mashing the button to keep running fast was so annoying. I did like the FPS In The Helmet mode but not enough to overcome the constant button mashing. Since I didn't pre-order the GOAT version of the game, I have to wait until Friday for my digital DL to allow me to play. What a crap way to try to force people to spend an extra $20. And they advertised it as "play the game 3 days early". GTFOH EA. Madden has ALWAYS released on a Tuesday. Now you are telling me that Tuesday is 3 days early and that Friday is the "actual" release day in the USA? This is why I despise EA at times. Always trying to soak people for a few extra bucks while holding back something important as hostage to get you to pay it. Unbelievable. |

No. I'm not doing that. I refuse to be swindled by paying for something I "normally" already get, nor will I pay a 3rd party for such "privledge" (smh). But it looks like EA is in the "soak 'em for every penny" business (not surprised, they always have been) by holding back the standard edition for 3 days to try to make people spend the extra $ on the GOAT edition. F them. Also, I am a Digital download only gamer. It's the year 2017, I don't want to have to swap a disk everytime I decide to play a different game. I hate dealing with disks. They are a royal pain in the ass. |

Pre-ordered GOAT through Madden 17 to get a bunch of MUT stuff for my step-son. Turns out, only my account gets the stuff because it's the only account that can buy stuff. I've been designing for TGC2 so much I haven't played enough to be able to trade, but once I get to level 6 I'll trade most of the stuff I got to him. Wound up with Barry Sanders who is a beast in this game. Can't trade him (awwwww), so he'll be running it 30 times a game.

I actually downloaded it on Sunday because my team sucks and I need to trade Tom Brady, Marshawn Lynch, Odell Beckham Jr, JJ Watt, and the other greats to the Colts I still didn't have a madden game on the PS4... had always played on PS3. Been playing (and enjoying) longshot, maybe it's a hint at NCAA 19? (99% not but we can dream)

I used to played madden for years mostly H2H online with a group of sim guys. I quit about 3 years ago because the game was getting more and more arcade. They also would take things out like being able to assign CBs to WRs and then bring it back and call it some new innovation. I had enough and quit. So had some friends ask me to get this years game because I guess it is pretty good game play wise. So I looked into it and they have three mode. Arcade, Simulation and Competitive. You can only play competitive online I guess ranked or unranked. Competitive mode has very little penalties and no fatigue. So same old EA. I played the simulation way for years going back to PS2 days. So they bring it back and call it something new but you cannot not play H2H with it. I am guessing they will patch it in but I am glad I did not buy it. I would have been pissed if I did not look into it since my sim "buddies" forgot to mention that part.

I just went out and picked up Madden cheap. To me it's not a game worth buying new.
Overall I think this game is missing something. It's pretty but the physics and momentum are completely messed up. It seems like there just designing a game loaded with canned animations instead of true to life interactions. With the amount of money they have this shouldn't be an issue.
Completely disappointed in the lack of design in playbooks. That and if I try to edit a playbook and take it online H2H it locks the game up and kicks you out.
Like I said I just picked it up but I probably won't play it much. I'll probably trade it in on the NBA2K game once it drops in price some.
My favorite sports game is MLB the Show. Sony does a wonderful job of replicating the sport and I think they'd make a wonderful NFL game.
