Our last handicapped event this season (August) finishes in a few hours. We want to know how our members feel about this type of event because they seem to be pretty devisive. People luv 'em or hate 'em. How do YOU feel about them?
Please vote in our poll. You only get one choice.
Thanks.

I voted no. If they could be run as stand alone events & not part of the seniors tour then I wouldn't mind

I don't think TGC2 handicaps are accurate enough to support handicapped events.

I like the idea if the handicaps were correct.

I like the idea if the handicaps were correct. Agreed ! I also like it if handicap's are correct , it also mixes up the play type from week to week

I'm neutral. No opinion either way. However, I do think having the leaderboard on the spread sheet already splits us into 4 groups based on skill level, not sure how HCP events make much difference, other then being able to show up on your platforms leaderboard. I'm happy with either decision.

Don't know if anybody else plays any true sim rounds but I do.This probably keeps my handicap higher than it should be so for this reason I voted no.

Probably the reason to say no is that some players will play tour clubs when not in tours when they usually use players clubs which can really affect your handicap.

I like handicapped events. It gives us lesser mortals a chance to compete from time to time. It doesn't have to be every other event. In a month of 10 rounds, 2 or 3 handicap events would be good. I know that handicaps are a bit hit and miss, and I acknowledge that mine is a bit on the high side, but there are so many things with TGC 2 that are a bit off kilter, we just have to accept things for what they are, and make the experience as enjoyable as possible.
When TGC1 first started HB Official tournaments included a weekly Handicap Competition. That's what we need now.
PS Oh by the way, I am a bit biased as I won a Senior Handicap Event this month. I think that is the first time I have won anything! I played better than normal because I was more confident that I could compete. With a normal event, once I am obviously nowhere near the top half, my confidence and then concentration starts to lag. IRL the handicap system was introduced so that anyone, whatever their standard, could compete on an even playing field...........I rest my case.

Agree with this I would have liked a poll option of 2 or 3 h'cap events / 10 round season (like this one). I think they add some variety and interest to the tour. While h'caps might be a little unreliable at the moment; they will settle down over time as we all play more courses.

I think handicap events are great but maybe only every 4th event. Just something to change the pace

Although my handicap helped me win a tourney, I still vote no to handicap. IMO, The handicap system does not calculate properly in this game. My handicap swings up and down radically. I also agree with a previous comment that the leaderboards are separated according to skill level and creates a competitive atmosphere. Whatever the final decision, I will continue to participate.

I avoid HC rounds at all costs. In fact, i don't even pay attention to what my HC is. I couldn't tell you if my life depended on it lol.
