Ewan, how did you find your first 2 rounds out on this course?
After that poor round of 75 yesterday I didn't have much hope in making the cut this week. Stuck it out today however and managed to get round in 64, my personal best on this course to date. The high winds of 12-16mph didn't help my first round but you really have to have your A game on the greens. A few of my putts just didn't break the way I expected in round 2 and could have used the extra strokes to make sure I made this cut.
You are visiting from the Web.com Tour, is that correct?
Yes I am. I managed a good score through January's Q-School and bagged myself 3 exemptions. I think I got a little carried away and just registered for the Euro Tour as soon as I could.
Do you think your -5 is enough to keep you above the cut line and earn yourself a Euro Tour Card?
Every golfer on the course is looking to score as best they can and advance into the weekend but yes I am going to remain positive. Its a tricky wee course and at least 30 players have to submit their scores so a bit of luck and I may make it.
Good luck with the rest of the event.
Thanks and can I just say well done to fellow Brit, Jack Oliver, for that Hole in 1 on hole 3. Hit a similar shot in practice but no TV crew around to catch it...(Laughs) Anyhoo, I am away to cool off in my hotel pool

Scott Doyley Round 1 - 60
First off, why are you here - shouldn't you be teeing up in Hawaii? Well, thanks for the warm welcome! I just couldn't put together a decent round at Pominville and decided that Jebel suited my game better. The Tourney of Champs didn't exactly go as planned either so instead of prolonging my stay I thought I'd get out of dodge and refocus here. I'm looking to get a head start on the Race to Dubai and with the low purse on the PGA side and the better than average purse available here - it was a pretty easy decision to come over.
So how did your first round go? What were some of the highlights? I'd like to think it went really well. I struck the ball good, putted well. First put of the day in fact was a little tester that managed to sneak in. I think I have that recorded on my phone - let me show you!
I also thought my short chip-in on 17 was a key shot of the day. Seeing as how my tee shot wasn't exactly placed in an ideal spot I managed to find the right roll into the cup. It went something like this here...
Overall, it was a solid round with many good but not spectacular shots. The putter only faltered once or twice so I can't complain heading into the clubhouse tied with my buddy Brionne.
How was it playing with Brionne today? Well he was keeping me on my toes that's for sure! He sure can sniff an opportunity - while I was looking for my ball in the heavy rough, he decided to put a little pressure on me with a beauty on 15. People say it went in for eagle, I'll just have to take their word for it as I was knee deep in grass!
Anyways, my battery ran out so I couldn't get any video from R2. Might be for the best though as I needed all my concentration keeping up with the folks over on the PS4 side. Some good shooters over there! Looks like I'm going to have to keep my eye on the prize if I want to close this one out. With that in mind, I got to go and hit the range - need to fix a couple of issues with the short game!

I enjoyed watching your round Doyley. It's amazing how extremely different our play styles are, from the approach shots to the putting and yet they both work damn well. Excellent round!

Hi Brad, How do you think the first two rounds went for you? You seem to be hitting the ball really well at the moment.
Yeah, thanks. My long game this week so far has been as good as it ever has, I have hit a lot of quality shots out on the course these first two days, my distance control has been pretty good.
What about the putting? You looked like you left a few out there.
Yeah, it's been like that lately. These greens are very deceptive, I had to bring in my caddy on numerous occasions as I just couldn't get a read on many of my putts. Some of the holes are a complete mystery to me, it looks for all the world that it breaks one way, only for it to wander off the other way? A lot of the greens around here are like that so I guess others are going to be having the same troubles too.
You are currently in a good position on the leaderboard, just two back from the leader Scott Doyley. What are your plans for the weekend?
Just to try and keep pushing. My game is in pretty good shape, if I can get a few more putts to drop then who knows? It's going to be really hard to catch Scott though, he is a fantastic player, a potential world number 1 in my opinion, so for me to make up enough shots to over take him will be very difficult. There are many other players within striking distance if they can get it going on the weekend too. We are very lucky that we can have players of his caliber coming over and playing on our tour, I noticed a couple more great players came over too. It only strengthens the European Tour when these guys come and play in our tournaments.
Thanks for your time Brad and good luck over the weekend
Thank you.

Here is Andi Smith for the last time this week. HI ANDI, HOW WAS YOUR FINAL ROUND OF THE WEEK?Well what an interesting week, I seem to play better the deeper the tournament got, I carded a 61 -11 score for round four, happy with that looks like a potential top 5 finish, oh and to cap it off I birdied 18 today, lol. YES YOU DID HAVE ISSUES WITH 18 IN THE EARLY ROUNDS, DID IT AFFECT YOU? >:DYES, STUPID QUESTION , of course it did it cost me three strokes which would have given me a top 3 finish, damn hole. I SEE YOU FINISHED HIGHER THAN TONY MCGETTIGAN?Yes, good isn't it?, lol, wont say to much as were travelling together to next weeks event, along with Nathan Allen, whom may I congratulate for earning his euro tour card this week, what a performance. A WIN AND A TOP 5 FINISH IN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS, YOU MUST BE HAPPY.Obviously i'm over the moon, totally over achieving at the mo, but I am hopeing my form can continue in the up coming weeks. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME ANDI, SEE YOU NEXT WEEK.Thank you and safe travelling.

Hi Brad, it looked like more of the same over the weekend for you, great iron play but your putter looked a little coldYeah, it was a frustrating tournament for me this week, don't get me wrong, second in a tournament with all these great players is a great achievement and I am happy with that. Like you say I was striking the ball so well, possibly the best I ever have. So to finish second by five strokes is a little disappointing. I feel that I missed way more than five putts that I should have made. I guess golf is like that, sometimes you hole them all, other times nothing seems to go in. You just have to look at my final round scorecard and the lack of birdies, especially on the front nine, that I needed to challenge Scott. I did rally on the back nine but it was a little too late then. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate this weeks deserving winner Scott Doyley. He is a great player who is pretty much liked by everyone on tour, he is very helpful too, so I might have to ask him for some tips regarding the new putting . He showed a level of consistency that I need to get to if I want to try and take some titles. What are your plans for next week?
I am staying in the desert and will be playing in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters at Powderfinger.. Before that I will be spending some time on the putting green to try and sort out my issues, which will not be easy with the recent changes that I am not accustomed to yet. Ok Brad, thanks for your time and good luck for your future tournaments
Thank you very much

We last spoke to Jacko after his first round 61, let's see how he's feeling now after carding a final Round 69 to finish at -27
Devastated if i'm honest, i had my sights on a top 10 from the moment i teed it up here and looked like i would do it comfortably until the 10th hole today. Nothing went right on the back 9 and i can already see from the leaderboard i've missed out. What went wrong on the back 9?
The putter was stone cold. I three putted 17 from about 5 feet (whoever designed that green needs shooting). Missing a Birdie on 18 by about 3mm was the icing on the cake. That would have been a collectors item this week. Frustration: Jacko struggled on the greens coming down the stretchBut still a good week for you with a potential top 20 finish?
I guess so, at least my pay cheque this week will cover my air fare to Qatar. I might even go first class.

Scott Doyley R3 - 61
Looks like you've found your groove on this course - any shots stick out today? There may be one that sticks out - it's not every day you manage to sneak in an ace in a tournament so I'll take it and run with it. Just a bit upset it didn't happen on a hole with a free car!
Also, prior to that ace, after starting the round with a couple of pars and then missing another approach on the 3rd - I was really feeling the pressure to make the putt to get the round going. After watching it roll in on the last few rotations, I knew I would be able to settle down and get to business. It was definitely a confidence builder.
Any regrets from your round today? Definitely lost concentration on the 18th tee. Sitting at 12-under I was thinking birdie to put up a 59. In fact it was all I was thinking since I forgot to look at the wind which caused my tee shot to run through the fairway and into the heavy rough. I was unable to recover from that and ended the round with a bogey. Not quite the way I wanted to end the round that's for sure!
Thanks for your time folks, but I got to go eat and grab a cold one!
