Who are your 5 favorite players who are currently active? Players who have been shelved for more than six months are excluded.
For me in order: 1. McIlroy 2. Sergio Garcia 3. Hideki Matsuyama 4. Ernie Els 5. James Hahn
Here are the reasons: 1. His swing is so pure and when he is on, which hasn't happened too much recently, he cannot be beat, hence 2016 Fedex Cup Playoffs. 2. One of the premier ball strikers and love his consistency over the years, I believe he's played in 75 or 76 consecutive majors. I also appreciate how he's matured recently from the way he acted in his 20's and now is very well liked. 3. Matsuyama is turning into a beast, 13 worldwide wins in the last 4 years and is a nice, quiet, humble golfer. The cadence of his swing is impeccable. 4. One of the game's legends. Over 100 worldwide wins, 4 majors in what I dare say is an underrated career. His humility and generosity in the community is evident and is one of golf's elite ambassadors. 5. Hahn is a bit of a bromance pick I must admit. He's got a great personality and just enjoys what he does, in addition, when he is on he is tough to beat. Winning at both Riveira and Quail Hollow takes immense game, but then he is quite frustrating because he can go months without making a cut and contending.

Go on then. 1. Lee Westwood. All round decent bloke and fantastic golfer, especially with his driver and long irons. Those dastardly 6-10 foot putts have always been his downfall but he's finished 2nd in every Major and is really unlucky not to have won one. Maybe his time will still come? 2. Rory. That follow through! His swing is joyous when he's on it, needs to play more golf! 3. Poults. Any European Ryder Cup fan will have Poulter in their top 5. That Fourball session at Medina on day 2 was THE best golf I've ever seen. Legend. 4. Mickelson. I hate to pick a yank in this but he's Just. So. Classy. And a lot of fun to watch, Seve would approve. 5. Chris Wood. My hometown golfer, Bristol City fan, nuff said! He has a few back problems but is a very good golfer, won some big tournaments already, Bristol would party hard if he won a big one. Very good putter. Honourable mentions to Sergio, Rickie Fowler, Miguel Angel Jiminez (just for the warm ups!) and probably many more if I stop to think about it any longer! I was pleased for Justin Thomas tonight too, anybody who wears a tie for the first round of The Open is ok by me!

1) Adam Scott - Best swing in the game 2) Jason Day - all round good guy 3) Dustin Johnson - who doesn't love watching a shaved down Sasquatch hitting it out of sight. 4) Rory. Just a superstar of the game, will be one of the all time greats 5) Tiger Woods. Aside from Jack, the G.O.A.T (I know he's not currently active, but he'll play again)

1) Ian Poulter - Great Fun of a lad and his determination in team events is ridiculous and his clothing are spot on. 2) Sergio Garcia - The most temperamental golfer and an fan favourite who wasn't delighted when he won his first major? 3) Bubba Watson - When his on it he's unplayable when hes off it hes @!$#ing entertaining 4) Rickie Fowler - Just find him to be a genuine decent bloke and hes always winning me money 5) Paul Dunne - Have to put the local lad in nice to have a young Irish player who's home club is a well struck driver from my front door playing on tour and doing the town proud. Out or on there way out list. 1) Greg Norman - The man that got me intersted in Golf during his Masters collapse. 2) John Daly - Just read the mans autobiography absolute hero of a mess. 3) Tiger Woods - Greatest player to ever play the game. 4) Miguel Ángel Jiménez - If he was anymore layed back he'd be horizontal 5) Phil Mickelson - Could argue he should be in the first list. Lefty has been an Icon for me for many years his inventive style and just wild at times play is a joy to watch. Honorable mention Seve Ballesteros - A little before my time and I was so focused on Norman and Daly around my early golf days i didn't appreciate how great of a player he was and the original innovator of getting out of sh%$ and making insane saves. Long may he be remember as the Icon that he is. Dishonorable Mention Rory McIlroy - pompass stuck up !%$# . has the most punchable personality on tour. he's made his money now just @!$# off Rory.

1) Harold Varner III - 1st golf tournament I ever went to. He made a joke and interacted with a crowd after bogey on a par 3 to a patron that was needling him a bit (I think an acquaintance). Seems really humble and down to earth and someone I have taken to rooting for to break through. The ultimate underdog in my book. 2) Matt Kuchar - Does the man ever not smile? Seems like he enjoys the game and is appreciative of the crowds that follow him. Really think he deserves a major title to his name. 3) Ian Poulter - One of my favorites because he is what got the wifey involved into golf. Plus, he entertains me and like said above a huge competitor and can even be a little grating at times (ie Ryder Cup) when he is on the other side. 4) Patrick Reed - Honestly I don't know why but I like him. Whether it is his bravado out on the course or what or his pride at the Ryder Cup. You always seem to know what he is thinking and feeling. He is a guy I usually keep an eye on the leaderboard for. 5) Jordan Spieth - This is a new one because I am not usually a band wagon type guy. But after watching The Open and at the PGA he seems to have his head screwed on pretty well.
I could swap out Spieth for Phil when I am feeling a little less bandwagoning as I would like to see him complete the Career Gran Slam. I just really want it to be in a Mickelson'esque way and him forgoing his chance to be at his daughter's graduation just raised the bar in my book.
