Hi all,
i received my my official handicap the other day and I was puzzled to see I've been given 0.2. I've never shot anywhere near zero, I'm not that good at the moment and regularly shoot between +8 and +15. How come I've ended up with this handicap rating? Now when I play I give almost everyone shots and competitions for me are impossible to compete in. I shot +8 last night and my handicap went upto 1. Based on this I think it will take 20+ rounds to give me a true reflection

This was just a general question to be honest. Not TGC Tour related

When i first got my hcp it was+24 which meant to score even par at a par 72 i would have to shoot -48 Don't think ive ever shot that low even on littlebrook. But now after quite a few rounds maybe 20 not sure,I have got it down to +12 i think it is now.Which is about right for me i'd say.I just played alot of the harder rated courses and even if it was 15-16mph wind i just played to reduce the hcp,so it will probably even out eventualy.

You need to have 20 rounds in to get an accurate handicap. My last 20 rounds my best round has been 15 under, my worst was 5 under. My avg was a little better than 10 under. The game says my handicap is 11.5 sounds about right.

Last 20 rounds, none under par. Still say's I'm plus 2.5.

Last 20 rounds, none under par. Still say's I'm plus 2.5. Question have you been playing tough courses? If answer is yes. Then have you played them close to even par. If answered yes again. Then because of course ratings and slope you could get a low plus handicap. I know confusing.

Yeah, +2, +4, +1 etc. Thanks for the reply.

So the question I ask you now is, If you played on a slightly easier course and played well could you shot 2-3 under? Hopefully the answer is yes.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Still not convinced on this handicap rating but I'm going to play 20+ rounds to see how I fair. Still love this game. Can't wait for the career mode

When you first get your handicap it only uses your best single lowest score. After 20 rounds it will be figured using your lowest ten for an average.
