Well that was a thoroughly demoralising first tournament. I'm struggling to understand how i was practicing rounds close to par on very hard courses, to suddenly being hugely over par on what was described as an easy course. Just the 50 over across the 4 rounds. That's bottom out of everybody who played on xbox. Now, i was never expecting to be a challenger, but to see the leader sitting on -54 is a bit bewildering. How is anybody possibly making so few errors across 4 rounds? I'll practice some more, but i can see me throwing the towel in after a few tournaments like that. Just hang in there. I was in your shoes when I first started and couldn't believe the scores being shot. It will click. Don't worry right now about everyone elses scores, just try and improve your score from the tourney before. It will come around but you will learn it's the journey climbing the tours that is the most fun here at TGCT. See you on the links

If you got +50 this tournament, then aim for +40 in the next and so on. Just try and keep improving on your game, and the rest will fall into place.

I'm new to TGCT but a long time golf club vet.. just keep playing rounds... join some societies to compete with others... watch some YouTube videos of people playing the game.. see thingings they do to cominsate for with.. lie... elevation etc.... as I said I'm new here, but seems like the coolest part is once you get your tour card.. you WILL be matched up with people similar to your skill level!! Keep working.. this game is super rewarding when it comes together and TGCT seems like the icing on the cake!!

Wondered how anyone can shoot so low. I still do wonder sometimes. Difference is now I'm enjoying it and shooting well as I can. I finished -39 for the CCB exhibition tourney and thatvis my absolute limit. Keep working at it you will improve. If you are using Tour clubs then stop. My above scores were with Player clubs and it's just what you should use to learn the game without the frustration of tour clubs kicking your ass.

I am using tour clubs atm. Cheers guys. change back is my firm advice. On the current courses you will not have any issues and u need to learn the game play then benefit from extra length later. Or stay on player clubs and still shoot -40. Trust me.

Keep in mind that you will be placed with like skilled players. If you haven't done qschool it's likely you'll end up on cc-e. If you struggle there you can be demoted to cc-z where guys will be shooting over par on a regular basis. Don't let the low scores discourage you as they include the best players in the game right now on the same leaderboards as those still honing their skills. That won't be the case during official season events. Hope that helps!

-48 for my first official-but-unofficial TGC2 tournie - pretty happy. First 2 rounds the putter was amazeballs - didn't miss any small ones, drained quite a few medium to long ones - almost hitting 70% one putt percentage! The final 2 rounds were not quite as hot and my swing deserted me for about half a dozen holes on the final round - tho I doubt I could have quite competed for the win even if it hadn't. Currently hopeful of a rare top10-20 tho. When WGR points are back in play, I'll be showing my standard composure (ie not a lot) and I seriously doubt I'll be hitting these sorts of highs very regularly.
Congrats to the leaders, some serious golf occurring.
