Gen 2 was the best, with an honorable mention for X/Y. Haven't played the latest games though. I made it about halfway through Omega Ruby and haven't quite gotten back to it.

I can never replicate the feeling I had before the games were all over the internet, waiting to see what popped out of that grass next, what's that Venonat turn in to, when the Hell will this Magikarp learn something useful, oh this Gurados is pretty @!$#ing sweet.
I saw another kid playing it at a youth football game once. They had already been to saffron city and I got to play for like 10 minutes. I begged my parents for it and it was a runaway train ever since.
Sandslash and Sandshrew will always be my favorite, but I love the Eevees, (Vaporeon competitively is the sh%$), Togekiss, Avalugg, Mamoswine, Chandelure, and I have a sweet spot for that Trubbish line.

I'm pumped to see what they have in store for the "core" game on switch.

I'm pumped to see what they have in store for the "core" game on switch. Waiting for my daughter to let me play moon...sigh YES! Can't wait for the switch game. Same issue for me with Pokemon Sun a while back... I finally just decided to get another copy and let my kids play their own versions. |

What made Gen 2 so great? It's the only one I never played, including the Gen 4 remake. I prefer Gen 3, it had a better story than 1, 4, 5, and 6 IMO. Gen 7 had an AWESOME story but I'm not a fan of a lot of new 'mons in that game for some reason. |

but I love the Eevees, (Vaporeon competitively is the sh%$) Sylveon is worth the time and dedication to obtain. It's really good to wreck a bunch of gym leaders and elite four members with in X and Y. |

Everything that was so great about the original, but without all of the issues, and with more depth, and better graphics. Played the hell out of that as a kid. |
