Has anyone got an idea of when the ball will and won't spin with the chips? I'll have 2 identical shots ( distance, landing on upslope, into wind) one will spin and one won't. This appears to be completely random to me and it's driving me nuts! 👍 Same for me. I can't see any rhyme or reason to it. Much like real golf, it seems to spin when I leave it short and run out when I hit it too hard.

I tell ya what is working for me. I take 4 or 5 practice backswings, not in practice mode, just backswings to get the feel and then hit the ball. It's working for me. Any uphill slope will stop the ball and any downhill will make it roll a LOT. It's a feel thing, don't play with loft and trust the club the game puts in your hand. RARLY do I full swing CHIP.

Yea this is really starting to bother me. I really never know if the ball is going to spin or not. I have posted about on the HB boards but have not heard back from the Devs.
I also think the animation is horrible. Wrist looks like it is broken and the ball is to far away. The feet really should be close together in a open stance as well.

Are you guys delofting and jabbing? Or just jabbing with a LW? Give me a hint. I'm wither chipping for 1 yard or 15 yards AAAGH I stopped using the LW from that distance and use a SW with distance line all the way up and work on tempo I get better contact with a SW and don't be afraid to your putter when close. I got a hole out on the 16th R1 at Halton Beach was around 5 yds Rod. Practice with a SW see how you make out! I replaced the LW with a GW and experimenting with that too.

I've gottin pretty good with a totally lofted LW and hitting the pin to stop the ball (seriously).

12 yards is only 36 feet anyway so if there isn't a lot of rough between you and the green, putt, it works a lot better in this game. The LW chip with the most extreme loft is about 15 yards off the top of my head - I do find it hard to control a chip shorter than that but I play to avoid it

Putting is fine if you are on the fringe but id you at on the fairway things can get random. I have 16 yards for total lofted LW ON FLAT 170 greens.

I was hitting a few Fast/Perfect shots over the weekend which were going straight and short.
My guess was I was hitting what TGC1 would just call an 80% shot - ie. didn't let the backswing get all the way to the top, so it considered the shot 'fast' as I was going forward too early.
I am guessing this will apply to chipping where if I don't get hung up on perfect/perfect, as long as the follow through is perfect, it should go straight at the pin.
yet to be tested but anyone else know if this is right?

How long did it take you to get to that creative name?

steve2golf Very clever use of OB to ensure you are always chipping from the same spot until you actually hole out. It's smart - I like it

I have published a chipping range called chipping range. Awesome - thanks! I have absolutely no clue how to use that designer. I tried to make just a green to practice and couldn't figure out step 1.
