According to the UI on the left, the "U" button should delete crowds that you placed, but it doesn't seem to do anything, and I don't think there are any other options for deleting crowds you've placed down. Has anyone had any luck here? Thanks.

Yes, the crowds work the exact same way than OB, to delete a shape go to place crowds and when you have the brush selected place your cursor on one of the already placed brushes, which will turn yellow. Then, instead of clicking apply, click delete button (square on ps4)

Gave that a go, and that doesn't seem to do anything either. Odd, not sure what the issue is. Maybe a bug?

might be an issue with the patch. As Pablo said, it works identically to the OB feature. Maybe try to see if you can place and delete OB?

That doesn't seem to do it either. Tried OB, same issue. I can place it just fine, but highlighting it (it does appear yellow) and hitting "u" as in the UI or "delete" both do nothing. Turning crowds on and off didn't seem to have any effect either.

Haven't read this thread since I'm too lazy, but on PC it'll be the space bar (if you design with a keyboard)

That did the trick! Thanks for your help guys, I really appreciate it. That was really un-intuitive.
