Long story short. I have been slowly getting better and better at the game. Trying to play a little bit every night and eventually working my handicap from a 4 to a +2.8 and doing pretty good with Tour clubs. Fast forward to tonight. I get online and I'm straight butt cheeks. Can't hit it straight to save my life, and when I do, the tempo is ALWAYS fast. If I try to consciously slow down a tad, goes from fast to really slow. I'm taking almost dead last in my career tournaments after consistently getting under par with Tour clubs. I thought maybe the thumb stick on my PS4 controller was going bad, so I tried another to no avail. Is there something server side that could be explaining the tempo issues or did I literally go from a + handicap to hot garbage in a 24 hour span?

HA - that has happened to me - it was like a slump. Like I never held a controller in my hands before. But it comes back. Move around, change position. Seriously, step away for a day and reboot.

I ended up going back down to Player clubs and never hitting outside the cone again the rest of the night. I was playing some longer courses though and it sucked losing the little bit of distance. And you summed it up exactly, it was like I've never held a controller before. My fiance just kept laughing saying "Hey remember when you said this game isn't so bad yesterday when you were doing good?" haha. I spent an hour on the range and couldn't form any sort of consistency with tour clubs. Super bizarre.

My buddy that comes over on Saturdays was laughing at me when I had issues. I kept saying NO - I CAN DO BETTER and then yank it left or right.

I've been playing on Tour clubs since release, and have encountered similar issues. For me it was uncannily reminiscent of my real golf game - fixing one issue and creating another during the process. I've been steadily improving also, but I happened to notice something odd after a few days - that occasionally my golfer would suddenly shift in mid-downswing, causing my shot to slice wildly. I thought at first it might be some kind of bug, so when I got some time I spent about 30 minutes on the range just shooting the driver over and over to replicate the issue and see if I could find the problem. And I did... it was due to me slightly shifting the direction of my mouse during the downswing. So, confident with that new realization, I continued hitting tee shots while working to fix that issue. Only to head to a course and suddenly start shanking my shots to the left. In fixing my weird mid-downswing issue I created another one that caused me to hook it. So I started trying to work on that in the middle of shooting the round I was in, and suddenly I couldn't hit the ball even moderately straight to save me. I had to sort of "unlearn" what'd I'd been working to "fix" and just let myself swing, and I started shooting better. Now, I still hook it sometimes - but hey! I fixed my slice!

The first four days I had this game I switched sticks twice, seating positions three times, and looked and didn't look at the controller constantly.
I've got all of that sorted out and I'm back to what I've always done - left stick, don't look at the controller. But two days ago I couldn't hit straight at all. YEsterday, all was well. Welcome to golf lol
