I really think that a player needs more than 5 societies to join.
What with the tour you are in, seniors for me and a couple of friends tourneys, career etc.
Methinks 10 would be a good number.

Personally, I can see absolutely no logical reason to limit society memberships at all. Now, if it's a technical/software reason, so be it, but just arbitrarily limiting how many you can join just seems ridiculous to me...

I totally agree about unlimiting them but then you may get some asses who may clog up the system. Not sure how it works and may cause more lag issues which I can do without bit I'm rethinking 10 would be too small with all the Community events and Majors.

Why a limit at all? Technical problems (eg. causing massive lag, loading times or whatever) might be the only logical answer to me. What bugs me even more with that Society bullshit (and I've seen that coming) is the fact that each and everyone is now coming up with his own society, which is separating the community even more (in my opinion), even on the same platform. I mean we don't even have one (official?) society for all PS4 members (or any of the other platforms). Was that the idea behind this crap? Great job, HB. Really great job...

When I was getting ready to establish the Seniors Society for PS4 on the 30 June or 1 July there were already over 800 societies there. Most of them looked to be bull****. Then when I was looking through the courses they are there immediately. All the bull**** courses.
It's a shame.

We thought sifting through the tens of thousands of BS courses was a b%& in TGC1, they've gone and replicated that with societies!! I mean, honestly, if I could get some sort of answer as to their rationale behind limiting number of societies one can be a member of, well, then maybe I would agree (or at least understand)...the only thing I've seen said about it from anyone from HB is that "the limit is 5 for now", which leads me to believe that it's just an arbitrary limit set by them...if that's the case, all I can say is EPIC FAIL, HB!!!

Hmmm. I don't see a way to get out of a Society that you joined by mistake or just want to leave for whatever reason. Don't not see a button to do that. Any help appreciated.

With that being said I think 5 is too few. I want to join some that have big payouts and make it worthwhile to enter. Seems like the official HB society doesn't even give out currency, WTF!

Let's face it. HB did a good job on the Golfing side of things. A really good job IMO. Everything else - they took out features that worked well, and added stuff that A/ Doesn't work and B/ Nobody really wanted anyway. The whole Societies thing is just a really s**t version of TGCT

I like the idea of societies a lot. Kind of nice to build 'virtual' rivals in the game. No idea if this is a technical limitation (database or something) or a design choice based on UI space or just an arbitrary number. I hope they increase the limit though. I'm in 5 now and already dropped out of 1 simply because a friend started another and asked me to join.
The idea is nice as it gives me more tournaments to play on a weekly basis.
I am guessing they thought it would be enough, announced it, heard the feedback but it was too late to make changes in the current build we got. They seem to listen (for the most part) to the community, so hopefully they will announce a change. I'm willing to give it some time.
