I just about get time to play my 4 rounds on this tour every week and I was using the previous "Idiots guide" which had club length and then distances for each bar of loft added etc.
Obviously the game has changed a bit for TGC 2 and I simply don't have the time to find the new distances etc.
Has anybody been kind enough to post a new "Idiots guide" for TGC 2 yet ?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
Neil

Most are just working it out themselves. Not so much reliance on lofting. Still comes down to putting and I don't think there can EVER be a chart made for that.

Don't worry about distance control yet - worry about keeping the ball on the course.

I'm 63 years old and the one thing that has happened over the decades by you youngins is the lack of instructions. FIGURE IT OUT ON YOUR OWN . .. or read 2000 forums posts. I WISH there were designer notes. Instructions are one thing but WHY the designers did other things is normally more helpful.

I hope no one ever posts such a guide.
I plan to work it out for myself and keep it to myself.

Believe me, I've tried to get my head around this Lofting/De-Lofting window. When I try something that works on one shot, It doesn't on another. The Tempo is so important on every shot, that my advice is just to concentrate on this. I have played approximately 12 rounds now, and most of my full wedge shots seem to come up short, and I'm sure this is down to not having the correct Tempo. Early days yet, but isn't it great having a drive range.

Dont know if it's transferred to TGC2 however...

Dont know if it's transferred to TGC2 however... Was it a tee with water all around? I think it was one of mine's I have it on the TGC cloud (as they call it) so I can easily import it - I just hope there's no modding work needed cause I'm not proficient at all with the course designer. I only designed courses to study the game mechanics With TGC 2 tho, if your using Tour Clubs, there's no point of charting the clubs and lofts until you're 100% confident to consistently hit perfect/perfect timed shots in the red cone. Even then, a shot on the edge of the cone compared with a shot perfectly straight, could yeald a 20+ yards difference. I think the devs are trying to avoid math and charting as much as possibile...even if it won't work for so long. Also I believe they've added some random BS factor to the swing sensitivity.

Wind test is useless unless you can hit it straight LOL

Touch of deloft on an 8i came up about 10 yards short still.

It doesn't really matter. You are better off if you are unsure whether to Loft/De-Loft and just hit your shot without any adjustment. I tried this on 3 rounds and most of my shots that I thought would be slightly long or short, actually turned out OK. The only time I'll make adjustments now, is if I am certain that the club I'm using will definitely go short/long.

I shot a -13 on black brook...once you understand the math involved the loft/deloft is fairly simple
