Stone Putters Design Society NewsPrevious Event: (The Who's) Tommy is a wizard! At our last event, held at Apache Creek by drivert , it was tommy2525 , riding a first round 64 (-7) to the win. PS4 member moisthamster paced the second round with a 2-under 69 and finished as the runner-up. I had an awful time of things in the first round, struggling to a 77 (+6). I expected Apache Creek to play a little bit tougher than Victory Village did, figuring the mix of holes would prove to be an intermediate challenge. The course really highlights the difference in gameplay between TGC1 and TGC2. Missing the mark really gets you into a lot of trouble, as hazards are difficult to escape - something that just didn't happen in TGC1. As a result, my score took a huge nosedive. Coming Up: More Design HeavyweightsThe next event is being held at Crazycanuck1985 's The Denali Club which projects to be quite the challenge, and then it's back to a relaxing event at arcticfury 's new Jupitor Ridge. We have some room on the schedule, and I would like to get two things accomplished with future events: Play a course by a lesser-known designer; Play an RCR. To date, I don't think any of our members has been able to bring a course over from TGC1 ( mayday_golf83 ; Gnomie823 ), but as soon as we have a course designed by a member available, I want to get it on our schedule. If you have any suggestions about what courses to play, please let me know! Updates: Come see the new digs!Stone Putters has reached level 2! This allows us to add 5 more events to the schedule. We also made some clubhouse renovations. No more are the blinds bent, nor are there TV cables hanging from the ceiling. The Society Membership Fee has been increased to 100 coins. This is aimed at helping us upgrade the Society. Entry fee for the Jupitor Classic at Jupitor Ridge is set to 200 coins with 65% going towards the purse. It will cost 1200 coins to reach Level 3. Yes, as soon as the PS4 legacy issues get sorted out, I want to give Seenbayer Park the TGC2 treatment post haste. A few others will cross over while I peck away at my to-be named summer showdown contest course.

Stone Putters Design Society NewsPrevious Event: (The Who's) Tommy wins at pinball... I mean, golf again! We played The Denali Club by Crazycanuck1985 and it was tommy2525 winning again, although the field was, um, less than stellar. Tommy posted a very fine 12-under, while I hacked my way around with the Tour Clubs at 12-over. It was surprising that I found the course to be enjoyable as it was. The greens are still "canucked" but I remembered the fairways being narrow from TGC1, but they actually are plenty generous. This course is a must-play for elite players. Coming Up: More Design HeavyweightsThe next event is at arcticfury's new Jupitor Ridge. I am really lookong forward to this one, as his courses are visual standouts. Every time. After that, it'll be high time to play a real course. Up for consideration are theclv24's rendition of Oakmont and friendBOMBER's rendition of Pebble Beach. I have some other fictional courses in mind, such as the disemvoweled one, VctryLnSprts' Devon Quarry, and Saguaro Bravo by Mr. Course Reviewer, himself gregfordyce. Updates: Root us on!mayday_golf83 and I are entered into the Challenge Circuit Design Showdown 2017! We are pitted in a bracket-elimination style tournament against 30 other designers - including some design heavyweights - for a chance to face off in the finals! The playing community is going to be the big winner, but I won't mind taking @griff's money. ð

Hola
Is this open for anyone? I'm not a great designer by any stretch, but seems like fun and a way to try out new courses and get some feedback ay.
I'm also Australian so I'm super laid back, have shitty internet and I drink a lot. Hahaha.
Cheers

What we're about is finding a course to play and then talking about what we liked and didn't like. If you're interested in designing, our members can help you learn the designer. If you want to talk strategy of a hole, then we've got you covered. If you just want to play some casual golf, then swing away! Right now, we have Oakmont on the schedule (weekend pins).

Stone Putters Design Society NewsPrevious Event: ErixonStone Breaks Par; Finishes ThirdIt was more of the same at the top of the leaderboard at Jupitor Ridge by arcticfury , with tommy2525 taking home his third consecutive win. But, I'd rather talk about my score, as yours truly carded consecutive rounds under par for just the second time in 4 events. Alas, my -12 was not nearly enough. Tommy2525 opened with a solid 65 and then blazed to a second round 59, en route to a -20 overall score. Runner up was Gnomie823 (-14) who also fired a second round 59 after struggling to a 1-under 71 in round one. Jupitor Ridge is a fantastic course that plays fair throughout. Fairways are generous and approaches are generally short. The color palette is unique - or at least new in TGC2 - which gives the course a fresh look. Players of all abilities will enjoy this track, although the elite players may not be challenged enough in a competitive setting. Coming Up: No Penalty StrokesOur next event is at theclv24 's fantastic rendition of Oakmont CC, the host of the 2016 US Open and site of the embarrassing fiasco surrounding a penalty stroke assessed against the eventual champion, Dustin Johnson. The event will be two rounds (Saturday and Sunday pins) over three days. After departing Oakmont, Stone Putters moves to Devon Quarry by VctryLnSprts for one round as we search for vowels. Pat Sajak is an early favorite. Updates: A New Home (Course)Our first Stone Putters Design Society member course is published in TGC2 (well, sort of), so we'll be making our home there. The course is Molokai Golf Club - a collaboration among friendBOMBER , HB forum member UrsusArctos, and myself. Molokai received the most votes (among four courses - Turu Wero, Valle de los Reyes (Ballesteros), and La Strada Golf Links) from HB twitter respondents in a recent HB course design competition.

Just a quick note that we have a one-round event at Devon Quarry by VctryLnSprts over the next two days. This is our first foray into the catalog of our newer designers, so any feedback and discussion points are encouraged.

Sorry for the late notice, but we do have an event up now at drlowdon's Clube Olimpico Rochina. Two rounds at this course originally designed for last year's TGCT Olympic design competition. Also, mayday_golf83 has published Seenbayer Park and Moe Slorkman has published Exiled Island, so those will be on tour soon as well. In other news, SPDS has been elevated to level 4, so check out our new clubhouse.

Welcome, guys.
The event on Dean's course ended, and now we are on to Jeremy's Seenbayer.
Been really busy at work so haven't had a chance to do write-ups, but I basically choked away the event at Clube Olimpico Rochina on the back 9 of round 2. I had 15+ MPH winds, but that's no excuse.
I don't know whether anyone played late the other night and beat out Tommy's score.
