How many different places(states, provinces, countries, etc) have you played a round of golf in your lifetime?
What are the 2 best courses you ever played?
Just curious to see where everyone has teed it up..

Just curious to see where everyone has teed it up.. never played a proper 18 hole course, only par 3 courses and I still struggle to get better than 70 on those! What score do you think I should aim to get on a regular basis before moving to full course membership? I play once a week

I've played in MN, WI, IN, ND, SD, TX, NV, FL plus Manitoba, the Bahamas, and Dominican Republic. It's so hard to pick just two but Streamsong Red, Sutton Bay, Interlachen CC, and the Quarry at Giants Ridge are my favorites.

Quarry at Giants Ridge is near the top of my list as well. As is Whistling Straits. I live a couple of miles from the TPC of the Twin Cities and have played it a few times. It hosts a Champions tour event. Partner at work is a member at Hazeltine and has said we should go out, so need to get that done next year.
MN, Wisconsin, Arkansas, South Carolina, D.R.

I play once a week I personally think you should play 18 holes, and @ par 72 courses when learning to play the game. There is nothing wrong with playing par 3s but how will you ever learn to hit a driver off a tee box, or a 2nd shot 3/5 wood into a long par 4 green, just to try to save par? I say give it a shot. You have to learn sometime. Just remember to let faster players and groups play through!

I've played in a few different states and once in Canada. I've played in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, north Carolina, and Florida. My two favorites: Banff Springs outside of Calgary (won a trip there back in early 2000s), and Pinehurst #2 in North Carolina (i used to live in the Charlotte area). I found that you can play golf just about anywhere so take your clubs.

I'm only 21, so not much.
A ton in MI (Where I live) then one in TN and 2 in HI (Kauai)
Kauai Lagoons was the greatest course I've ever played.

Favourite course worldwide would be Arabella just outside Cape Town, South Africa which I played on a golf trip a few months ago. And me teeing it up on around the 12th Back home, it would be either the Marquess at Woburn, or The Brabazen at The Belfry.

My favorite place on earth is Myrtle Beach, I go every year and have played about 50 of their courses. My favorite course is hard to pick, I judge good with the cost as well, I'm not cheap, but I find it hard to justify $300 or more dollars to play premier courses that give me a lacklustre feeling during the round. So I prefer the diamond in the rough types, like Smugglers Glen. Absolutely phenomenal course, for $45 with cart. Great course, great bargain. www.smugglersglen.com/holebyhole/hole%201.html However I have never played my favorite, that being Augusta.

Not too many states but I did cover both coasts here in the US,
California, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Geogia
Two best courses I have played:
Wolf Creek (Atlanta, GA) Dauphin Highlands (Harrisburg, PA)
Never played a famous course, but Wolf Creek isn't too far off in quality from PGA grade.

I've played most my US golf in CA, but also some in IL, NV and FL. Outside the US I have Sweden, Norway, England, France, Portugal, Thailand, and Australia checked off on my list.
As for top 2, Pebble Beach has to be up there not only for the quality of the course but the history and setting as well.
Second one would be trickier but I have to go for Wolf Creek in Mesquite, NV. Those of you who played the TW series will know this one. A truly unique and very enjoyable golf experience.
If any of you make it to Sweden I would highly recommend my favorite Swedish course, Bro Hof outside of Stockholm.
Still on my list: NC, SC and GA would be nice, also South Africa is a bit of a dream I have.
