First, this is on PC and using a mouse to swing... I realize that's probably a vast minority, but if anyone else using PC / Mouse is experiencing this I'd really like to know. Not sure if it's in my swing or if it's a bug.
I'm using Tour clubs, and I've started to notice that sometimes my avatar will suddenly shift slightly to the left on the downswing - sorta like stepping the left foot back slightly as the club is coming down. Naturally this causes the ball to slice badly every single time it happens and puts me deep in the trees / heavy rough. I can't figure out why this is happening. It's almost as if for a split second the game thinks I'm shifting my aim in mid-swing. Has anybody else experienced this, or perhaps have an idea why it might be occurring?
I'm going to go to the range tonight and spend some time trying to replicate the problem on purpose and see if I can isolate the cause, because it kills my scores (not that they were all that great to begin with, but nonetheless...).

Odd. Not for me, but I am using a Controller.
Why don't you use one!?!?

Because I actually don't like how the controller "feels" when I swing. I know that sounds strange, but I started playing golf sims on PC way back before there were controllers available for PC with PGA Championship Golf 2000, and I've been swinging for so long with the mouse that it just seems unnatural to me to do it any other way. I feel I have more control over my swing than by using a tiny joystick on a controller.
I do have an XBox One controller that was combined as part of the Oculus Rift package, but I don't use it. I tried it once with TGC1 and it just didn't feel right at all.

Its not just you, happens to me too. I think it indicates a push or pull maybe.

This happened to me twice today on two different courses. There seems to be numerous bugs in the game.

Good - so it's not just me. It happened to me several times during each Tour I played in two of my Societies yesterday, and that will make playing competitively really difficult.

I'm pretty sure I figured out what's going on. It's my swing, and how I'm doing it... not any kind of odd bug or anything. I realized that I was altering the direction of my mouse - very slightly - on the downswing. Whenever I do that, bingo! the weird "side step" and a shanked ball. If I make a smooth downswing without any deviation in the mouse direction I get a straight (or nearly straight, in the cone at least) shot every time.
The real irony is that, once I realized this, I started paying more attention to that instead of the swing in general... and now I've managed to create another problem, where the "side step" is happening to the right now sometimes, causing a hook.
If that ain't just like real golf. Try to fix one problem in your swing, and create a bunch of new ones...

I found something where my hole swing animations turns to the left but the shot goes straight, it's pretty weird but doesn't really affect the shot
