The Player club distances are for the most part identical to the TGC1 club distances, i noticed that straight away.

I assume that you can only carry 14 clubs (including putter)?

Ok so I hit my driver 279 yards on tour mode. I have 142 into the vreen. What's to stop me switching from tour to player and cracking out the 7 iron instead of 9 iron to achieve the same distance?

Plus most of us here know you're a gentleman competitor on the course and will play the game honorably. Right?

other than a few extra yards on the hybrids, what is the difference between hybrids and irons? are irons easier to hit out of rough/sand? hybrids get more roll out? or is it just the yardage?
and even a step further, for the same general distance I could choose 7 Wood, 3 Hybrid, or 3 Iron. any idea what other differences you'd get here?

Hybrids are easier to hit out of the rough and they have a higher trajectory than irons. In your example the 7 wood would have the highest trajectory but be the hardest to hit out of rough/sand, the 3 hybrid will go higher than the 3 it on but not as Hugh as the 7 wood and be the easiest to hit out of sand/rough. The 3 iron will have the lowest trajectory and be easier to hit out of sand/rough than the fairway wood but not as easy as the hybrid.

Didn't know about the gap wedge was struggling with the difference between PW and SW That was one of the first things I did. I ditched my 5 wood, swapped my 3 wood for a 4 wood, and added the gap wedge. It now more closely resembles my real life set up.
