As you guys start getting into the designer in TGC2, let us know what changes to expect. Those of us who have spent hundreds of hours designing will be interested to talk about new tools, new features, and new techniques. Thanks!

Splines. No more awkward transitions between brushes. To me, this is the biggest game-changer, allowing designers to create realistic looking fairways. Splines aren't perfect, but they're really great.
Snap. Fences, retaining walls (and more!) snap to the end of the previous one.
Other than that, lots of new assets, water effects, new lighting options, height adjustments, scaling adjustments, rotation adjustments. Lots of cool new stuff.

I'll list literally everything new about the designer when I get home (no joke... I want to put this in a list just for people to see) but my short answer is a completely different interface on the designer. Splines and multi-level water come to mind, but the interface is the big one for me.

Oh SNAP! That is a feature that I wanted SO badly. Haha
Don't know what a spline is, but that sounds tremendous. Now if they could find a way for the first cut of rough to exactly match the shape of the fairway...

Alright, here's my two cents: the splines work identically to the old cart path feature from TGC1, but for every surface in the game. The big problem with it, however, is that, as with the old cart path feature, there are small indents in the line that are very tough to fix. At least for me, the splines are more of a rough outline tool, while the brushes are still the best for smaller details. A bit disappointing, because the main guys who need it (the RCR'ers) don't really get a big improvement over TGC1.

Zzzzzzzzz's video on splines show you exactly how to do it and fix the small indents very easily
