Hey everyone, I was wondering how many people on here have hit a hole in one in real life. I hit one last year while on vacation in the Bahamas. I'd love to hear the stories of anyone that has. I know having one under my belt at 18 was a fun thing to brag about

Not sure if it'll count, but I've had 3 in the span of about 35 years -- all on our local pitch and putt... 90 yards, 50 yards, and 70 yards.
The first was was the best. Had joined up with two retired guys, very late afternoon, and by the time we got to the 13th hole, it was getting quite dusky. The green is tiered, falling away at the back. I hit my shot, and ball appeared to roll off the back ledge. Spent a minute or two wandering around looking for my "lost" ball in the surrounding rough. Finally, one of the guys says "Look in the hole!" Out of pure frustration I go over, look in, and voila!

I have one here. The cool thing was it was with my son Zack when he was 7 years old so just over 6 years ago. It was at a Par 3 course (does that count?) on the opening hole early in the golf season I believe in April. The course keeps a wall of fame for their HIO's so pretty cool to be up there and to have my son there to witness it.
I remember it bouncing a couple times and rolling into the cup as I looked around shocked. As we got up to the green with myself still in amazement, Zack was just off the green and went towards where he hit and he looked at me and said "You gonna get you ball?" I was like "Uh.....yeah."

I have one on my home course 2006 I think ( have a plague at work). Par 3 165 yards 7 iron. Was actually with my good friends from high school . I shot like a 38 51 . Beer was flowing.
I have had a bunch come close since. Best one was in a scramble and it was for 10k. My ball was about 2 inches away. Mine as well have been a mile.

Seriously.... took me about 10 seconds to decipher! :-)

Had one in a match for my local club when I was a junior member aged 14. 6iron with a slight fade I'll never forget the feeling especially saying to my opponent ''you have this for the halve '' 😂

I have made one. 172 yard 7 iron. I was playing pretty poor up to this point. On the par 5 right before, I think I made a double hitting my third from 90 yards and thinning it over the back of the green. Get to the par 3. Middle of the club face, dead straight... never left the flagstick. Ball mark was about a yard in front of the hole. My playing partner was so hyped that the guys on the tee box next us for a hole later in the round knew exactly what happened. They heard the pure strike and the yelling 10 seconds later. They came over and congratulated me, too. During all of this, I never yelled or jumped. I just kept looking back and forth in bewilderment between the green and what was happening on the tee box around me. I think the only things I said were "Did that really just happen" and "Thanks" for all the guys congratulating me.
Still don't know why the golfing gods gave me that one. They seem to help me in the weirdest of circumstances. The closest to a HIO I have had that didn't go in was one of the first times I ever played golf. My dad took me out when I was 11. I was still learning how to play, so playing the front tees. I don't remember exactly how long it was. I think it was around 120 yards. Hit a 4 hybrid. It stopped about 3 inches short. I believe it was the first birdie I ever made, and I have been hooked on golf ever since.

I'm not exactly the best in the world, but I have a knack for hole-in-ones. I probably have hundreds! Wait, you weren't talking about mini golf? I have, no joke made 2 HIOs IRL. 3 if you count a 60 yard hole at a par 3 course... My first was in 2008. It was right after I graduated college and I went out to play with my brother and dad at a course in central Ohio (forget what it was called ). I hit a 6 iron on a 168 yard hole. It was a blind tee shot, but I knew it was on line. After I looked all around the green, I looked in the cup and found my ball. Boom! More recently was in 2015, I was playing with my brother-in-law at Tartan Fields in Dublin. The 8th is a 151 yard par 3, and is known for being an island green. Here's a picture for more effect: The pin was right around where it is in the picture, where it plays to the 140-145 range. I hit an 8 iron towards the middle of the green, but a big gust of wind brought it back left and into the hole! So yeah, even though I suck at golf, I've at least got the luck part of golf down lol

Three thus far. Two of them were on uphill holes and we looked for the ball forever before actually checking the cup... Sounds like a joke but seriously, looked all over.
One was actually on a par 4 so that made me feel pretty cool. Short hole like 270 yards, downhill over a pond. Played the hole many times but this time I hit a three wood that landed JUST right and I watched it curl up and around to the left and BONK...in it went.
One of my brothers had one that he shanked terribly. It hit a tree to the left and came rocketing out of the woods...bounced once in the rough, up on the green...right in the dang hole. It was hole 18 and the green is near the clubhouse. The guy in the pro shop came running out and just couldn't stop laughing. It was the worst hole in one ever.

I made 3 in as many days last summer at my home course. Holes 4, 7, and 15. I have 7 altogether. Only 3 have actually been a shot I "meant" to hit. Lol! Made an alby 2 weeks ago in a 4-man scramble from 240ish. That shot put us -14 thru 10. Yikes! My team consists of myself and 3 college dropouts who went for golf. Almost unfair. We like the weeds too much and they got the boot.

I've had 3 "hole outs" from over 100 yards... 2 of them were on back to back shots. Playing a short par 4, par 3, long par 4. Short par 4 hit approach shot to a few inches for gimmie birdie. Next hole is short downhill par 3 with tiered green and pin in front of tier.. shot hits the tier and spins right into the hole.
Next hole is long uphill par 4.... hitting 4 iron 2nd shot and we get up there and can't find it.. sure enough it's in the hole...
so I played a 3 hole stretch -5 with total puts made of about 6 inches. Part of the best 9 hole stretch I've ever had (30)
