EDIT: 18 hole beta is Byzantium GC Timber 18 Hole Beta, on both TGC1 and TGC2.Started on my first course a few days ago. I was going to wait until TGC2 but I figured since you'll be able to import course I might as well get started now. I published 4 holes as a beta, called Byzantium GC Timber BETA. It's actually holes 1-3 and hole 18. Haven't done planting yet other than a bunch of trees. So yeah, let me know what I need to be doing better. Here's a couple screenshots (click for larger versions):

Still working on this, basically have half the holes laid out so far. Still need to do a lot of planting and contouring the greens and fairways but I'm going to do that after the whole course is done in its raw state then refine it afterwards. Here's screenshots of the 4th, 5th, and 7th holes (a par 4, 5, and 5 respectively). The 4th hole is drivable in the right conditions, otherwise you'll end up in the large bunker on the side of the hill in front of the elevated green. The 5th hole is a 630-ish yard par 5, the sand bisects the fairway in a location where you have to decide whether to lay up on your second shot. The screenshot on 7 is taken from near the drive landing area on 7, which is a blind uphill drive. The 6th hole is a par 4 dogleg that wraps around the base of that hill. The 8th hole isn't done enough for me to take a picture but the tees are on a spit of land jutting out into the lake beyond the green you can see on the 7th hole and it's a segmented fairway which is split by a large trap that actually looks a bit like a dog bone from the air (it's also the longest par 4 on the front side). Click for the full size versions. Hole 4: Hole 5: Hole 7:

Just published an 18 hole beta as:
Byzantium GC Timber 18 Hole Beta
Aside from the basic guts of the course, most of the sculpting is done, greens are done in a broad sense but I'll probably want to tweak them some. Planting hasn't been done, but some trees have been added. Plan is to do most of the aesthetic stuff once I import into TGC2.
Medium firmness, fast greens.
Any feedback would be appreciated, since I'm still new at this.
EDIT: After playing it again myself, think I might turn down the fairway firmness.

I'm still on vacation but I've been following this thread, and I'll definitely give it a play when I return. Thanks for jumping into the design community! It's always great to see more people creating courses for everyone to enjoy. 👍🏻

I'll probably put it up as a beta on tgc2 tomorrow as well since I imagine a lot of folks have already uninstalled tgc1.

Played a couple holes my advice is to make your elevation changes much more subtle and fit more into your course as a whole.

Leading up to the first green and on the tee boxes also tee boxes need to be flattened

Imported the beta to TGC2, same name. Only thing I did was remove a few trees which became too big and added tees and pins. Also lowered the fairway firmness and the green speeds somewhat.

I could still use some feedback since I've been waiting to see if it's worth fixing the course and doing planting or if I should just scrap it... looks like nobody's started it on PC at least. I mean, if it sucks and you don't want to finish playing it, let me know, that's still feedback.
