Im struggling with bunkers...archhh. I like to do them, but sometimes they look so deep and big, bit struggling with sculpting these. Whats the norm for sizes of bunkers? Or isnt there no norm? I like those beanshape bunkers or the round ones, but some designers have other opinions. I like these, why should a bunker have weird shapes? Why is normal not enough? But most of all im struggling with the sizes of bunkers. Also I dont like deep bunkers, I find lowering bunkers 0.7 yards is more then enough and moving the lip of the bunkers 0.4 to 0.5 yards.

Do the bunkers the shape you want them. That's the only rule of thumb that cares. In sizes also, it depends on the size. The most "normal" as you describe them in my opinion work better being a bit smaller, as you can place them in most places. The ones that have "weird" shapes should be a bit bigger, specially if you lay them down with those brushes. Try to place one of those with a really small brush and you'll se what happens
If I have to choose, i prefer medium size, both for looks, playability and "sculptibility" if you know what I mean

size is only really important with relation to how they play. It is very possible to have bunkers that are to Thin to be realistically playable. Everything else is visual as far as size goes. If you're struggling with the depth then flatten the ground first, then put in your bunker, then raise the outside edge, then sculpt the land around it the way you want. There are a number of ways to do it. I did one short bunker video but I'll so some more when I get a chance. Just haven't had the time lately. I should be able to do a nice longer one in the next day or two though.

Gonna try those normal bunkers and make them little bit smaller. Those funky bunkers are the hardest to sculpt, especially when you place them behind the green. How deep do you sculpt bunkers and the lips?

I saw some of yours and from griff, scarpacci and canuck, its looks so easy when you guys do it, but when I have to do it, I struggling like hell. Also struggling where to place them at the landing area, around 270 yards spot? Problem with me is...Im a perfectionist and I want my course to be clean and smooth and cant stand it that it not works the way I want...lol. Well practice make sense...no doubt and I really like the designer, my favourite thing in designing is the planting and surrounding and believe it or not...green sculpting...I love it. Bunkers is something wich I dont like that much, but that has to do with non experience...but im still learning.

Size doesn't matter.. It's how you use it
