Welcome to Daily Round Main Thread. This opening post is your go to spot for all tour info, leaderboard links and course information.
Does anyone remember this classic from late last year? Yes of course you do. Well, with Matt Comleys (aka Ken Tremendous, aka Psychobulk) blessing I am resurrecting said competition and pretty much following the same format as Matt because it was fun and it made sense.
Matt's graphic representation of the results was outstanding and I'm afraid I'm not up to replicating those. However, what I will say is, providing you report the results in the format that I want, I will give you clear and up to date results via link to Google Sheets.
Because of the admin work involved in collating scores etc. I am going to have to insist that your scores are submitted in a certain way. The honour system will prevail and I want scores submitted in the following fashion. Once you have completed all 7 rounds Not bit by bit but all together. Write them down as you go or write them down from your final system scoreboard in game.
WEEK 1
1. 65
2. 73
3. 61
4. 75
5. 67
6. 59
7. 72
Sorry to be so insistent on this but otherwise it's not gonna work. Also complete your rounds in time otherwise your score will not count. You do not have to always play your seven rounds but if you don't your points tally will suffer.
The catch here is how the scoring works.
For each round within its seven round block, the top 10 all get their hands on some points. The winner (stroke play, lowest score, obviously) will receive 10 points, down to 1 point for 10th. Added to this is how many strokes you win by - a four shot win gets you 14 points for the round, a one shot win would be 11 points and so on. If there is a tie both players get 10 points with no bonus received. This system allows for plenty of varied winners and, importantly, plenty of points to be played for and made up on those above you. Have a bad round one day? No problem, do well in the next days round and pick up plenty of points when other players may not.
There will then be a 10 point bonus for the player who totals the highest points over that seven day block.
Results will be displayed for the various levels - PGA/Euro, Web, CC - Pro and CC - Am
Name of tour is Daily Round - Week 1 (and so on) and it will be published every 7 days with 7 courses (may include some par 3 tracks as well)
Week 1 courses have been selected and are as follows:
1. Seenbayer Park - Jeremy Mayo - Rustic
2. Lord Stanley's Pass - Matt Geddes - Swiss (Designer warning: club selection off tee frequently defaults to 3 wood when driver can be used) Take care - you have been warned.
3. Whistling Straits - Craig Frey - RCR - Highlands
4. Ellie Cliffs GC - Rob Wilson - Highlands
5. Las Palmas de las Archipelago Tropicana - David Jensen - Tropical
6. Selke Park - Matt Geddes - Highlands
7. The Sandbelt - Rob Wilson - Countryside
Good mix of old and new, various themes. Should be something for everyone. In the main greens will be medium with a couple of firm.
Watch out for next week. It will be ELEVATION WEEK. I have 3 or 4 courses in mind for this but am open to suggestions. What's your favourite course with lot's of elevation? This should be fun.
Ok peeps, week 1 is live - have fun out there!
