I've been thinking for a while that we could use a thread to discuss more general PS topics that wouldn't fit well into a game related thread ie. new firmware features, trophy discussion and help, what porn sites work best in the browser and so on.
Also if you're interested in making some new PSN friends post your ID here and I'll maintain a list so if you want to add anyone or let others add you there'll be a one stop shop for that.

This is a good idea. Especially the porn site bit. Ha ha.
I was on the US PS store and the games seem ridiculously cheap. I know it's possible to buy them and play in the UK but I think you need a separate profile.

I've got a couple unused PSN accounts attached to different countries. At one point I said some US PSN cards so I needed to create a US account to be able to spend them. I have a UK account as well as several years ago they were giving away a free game(s) that was apparently worth the time to make another account.

I have a us psn account as well as the eu one. It can be worth having both, bought The Evil Within for 9 dollars over the weekend. I use Amazon to buy a psn gift card, once a game is downloaded, its fully playable on my normal European account. I only use the American account to buy games when cheap, all are played on my normal psn account.

When creating a US account make sure to use a dummy address in a state that doesn't charge sales tax. If I remember correctly they were planning to start adding tax to PSN purchases again as of April 1. I know New Hampshire is tax free and I believe Oregon is as well. Might be some others but I'm not sure.

Technical beta for Gwent running all weekend on the PS4 in most regions. If you played The Witcher 3 you know what I'm talking about. If you didn't play The Witcher 3 it's a one-on-one collectable card game that doesn't require Witcher knowledge to understand.

Has anyone tried the PS4 Elite controllers with the paddle shifters for example scuf certainly very expensive ?
I am not looking for a cheat controller as I have heard there are certain ones that aid in TGC (like hori).
If anyone has used a scuf do they find them good for games like COD and BattleField?

Hey Cappy1, I haven't tried the new PS4 elite controllers but I do own a Scuf. This controller is great for online shooters especially COD with the jetpacking and wall running. I also use it with Battlefield series, I find I aim better with it than the original controllers. Their build quality is very good. |
