Make your first few greens easy to read so golfers will learn how fast/slow they are for the rest of the holes. Just sayin' y'all probably know that already.

Nah. With lots of practice, players should check the green speed and automatically know how fast they act.

that kind of defeats the purpose of a RCR does it not? fast is 187, medium I think is 156. firmness you can tell from the way the ball hits the green. Some RCR greens are crazy, just how they are. Heck my Chomonix course's first green has a nice back to front sloping green, where you have to be below the hole to have a shot, otherwise you are looking at a huge side bender. NOw my Chomonix course is not a true RCR, only a google lay out, no measurements. I probably will go back and recreate it properly in TGC2

Yep, comes with practice. Players will adjust.

How do you check the green speed??? When you're putting, look in the top right. It'll say ___ feet (somewhere from 101-187). The higher this number, the faster the greens.

WOW - I need to look later today. so the 101-178 is like a stimp meter (or what ever it's called)??
With my pulled back muscle and a LOT of wonderful pain killer virtual golf is my major activity today.

I check it on the 1st tee. Just switch to your putter and it'll tell you. I usually practice a couple of holes before tour rounds just to see the firmness. I only check speeds if I'm going in blind, but it helps.
