Welcome to Overfield Country Club, a traditional hillside course founded in 1953, located just outside of Carlisle, PA. Nestled in the rolling valleys very close to where the Appalachian Trail crosses over the mountain, this layout hosted many years of Member/Guest and Club Championship events as a private club before needing to go semi-private in 2005, unfortunately due to a declining "membership" market in Central Pennsylvania. It's hard to say for sure what caused the declining interest, whether it was too many public courses in the area offering discounted rates and coupon books, or if weekend golfers just aren't looking for that exclusive social atmosphere anymore. No matter the cause, the course opened its doors to the public in 2006 and has managed to survive, as people still prefer the wide fairways, picturesque views, and potential for lots of birdies and a good round to tell their friends about. If you choose to walk the fairways of Overfield Country Club in The Golf Club, you'll enjoy the course during its height of beauty in the fall. Although the changing leaves will catch your eye, along with strategically placed water hazards and bunkers, they will likely be nothing more than an ambiance to a peaceful round. Coming Soon! Opening tee shot, Hole 1.

More progress tonight, working on 12-14. I think hole 12 turned out great, plus I planned for the future by adding a long tee. Tee Shot, hole 12 View from black tee, hole 12

Some nice looking pictures, especially given that it looks like it's your first design.

Thanks guys, can't wait to get it playable so I can get feedback. You are correct, this is my first design.

Looking solid for a first design. Don't try to overdo something if you can't quite get it to look right. I've learned to execute well the things I can do in the designer and not try to copy looks of others. I borrow techniques, but not finished looks or products

I borrow techniques, but not finished looks or products Thank you so much for reviewing my screenshots, I really appreciate it. Just to clarify, was your advice general, or do you see designs you're concerned I've copied from others? I only ask so that I can better understand your feedback. I have not intentionally copied anybody (actually, I very rarely come across designs in the harvest theme). I'm actually doing one hole at a time, basically looking at the terrain and choosing a path for the hole, but I'm not intentionally mimicking anything. Feel free to expound so I can gain the most learning from your insights. Thank you.

Just a general statement to do what you do best in the designer, and to design to what you like and how you want it to play.

Wow! Proof is in the pudding - but from the pics; "Overfield CC" looks like being a very impressive debut course. You've certainly done your homework & it's evident you know your way around the GNCD. Looking forward to giving this a whirl when it's complete. Good luck with it.

Hole 13 is a very long par 5 with a challenging layup squeezed between the bunkers, and hole 14 will be a risk/reward par 4 with a driver, but beware of the bunkers strategically placed to force accuracy with a 3-iron or 5-wood layup shot. Approach shot, hole 13 Planning, hole 14 Approach shot, hole 14

Looking nice, I'm about to start work on my own first course soon. Isn't this game great? I've been waiting for a game like this to come along for a long time. With this in-depth of an editor, I mean. Got tired of playing Tiger Woods and buying all their courses...
