I'm in the process of planting on my front nine at Overfield Country Club, but my game just told me I exceeded the object limit! Holy crap, I did not know that was possible. I planted a lot of the trees myself rather than using autogenerated trees, but I still have another 9 holes to go. Am I screwed? I can't go through and delete each tree by hand, and I'm afraid the "area select" will grab more than just my trees.
I'm praying there's a way to clear object trees quickly or else I'm in big trouble.

Can't yYou can try "area select" -- and then undo if it takes more than you wanted? I take it that you didn't see the pinkish coloured bar that was gradually filling up as you were building the course...

Nope, I had no idea what that bar was for. Haha, I do now! ;-)
I used the area select tool and went around the edges of my holes where I had used multi-planted trees to create background, and after about half an hour I'm back down to half of the status meter.
Chalk it up to an important learning experience.

Glad you were able to rescue the course -- that would have sucked the big one if you had to re-do the entire course!

You're not kidding, I'm looking forward to finishing this so I can get feedback and become a better designer.

Just for clarification - is the object limit indicator that little bar above your profile info in the lower left corner (the line with 3 dots)? I've continued hearing about the object limit but haven't been able to find an image that shows it so I can monitor my own object count as I work on my course.

As you go along planting and placing objects that bar will move along to the right. Once you get past about 60% or so, some users have found that the GNCD will begin to crash occasionally. I certainly found that to be the case (PS4). Don't know how stable/robust the other platforms are, but after I hit about 50% on the planting bar, I save about every 10 mins or so...

Also, I believe if you use the multi-placement tool (vs. the single placement), it will increase your object count without being properly reflected in the object bar. I.e., if you place a ton of plants/grass/trees using the multi tool, the bar won't go up. So you're left not seeing an accurate object count and won't realize you are in danger of maxing out until after the fact. Can anyone else verify this?

It has me nervous now when I'm using grasses. I feel like I'm budgeting my beautification. Haha
