Played Eagleton again. Wind this time was a generous 7-12MPH. I used the chart on four shots when I was between clubs. Three they worked out great with one even finding the bottom of the hole from 128yrds out!! The one I missed was a par 3 and I must have calculated way wrong or something cause i was 15 yards short and in the bunker.
Overall a very solid 59 (-13) and that was with one bogey (just shanked a short putt) and 3 putts the barely lipped out. This course definitely can produce -18 + scores. My best shot was, aside from the hole out for eagle, was on #17. A perfect tee shot left me 223 out with an 8mph tail wind. I looked again and again before the green and figured a full 3 iron should clear the water by about 5 yards and hit the rough before the pin. I chose right and it hit the exact spot i was hoping and rolled up under a foot from the cup. Feels good.
Can't wait for Jan 5 to start this. Feeling good finally. Tho I am figuring if I can score -13 the top folks are going -17+.

That -14 is quite a round at ascension. I shot -13 the other night there. Tied with Birch for low round on xb1 so I was pretty pumped about that.

That -5 was probably the worst i should play the course. I played terrible tbh (1-7mph winds)

For me it's about hitting fairways and greens. I rarely miss them. I'm not trying to brag but shooting 8 - 10 under is easy for me on most courses and if I putt well then I'm going a lot lower. That why I'm in love with the magnolia (augusta course) It challenges me without any gimmicks. Now Ascension is good because if I do happen to hit a bad shot that course will punish you. I have had a few bad scores on that course but I've played that course a lot so I know where not to hit shots. Ascension is one of my favorite courses. I like my chances this week. Now hopefully I don't choke.

Managed a 58 (-14) on Eagleton just now. Zero bogeys and only one mistake. Tried for a par 5 in two and ended up in the bunker. Bad bunker shot left me tapping in for par. I think I have figured out this course where I need to go, what to do what not to do, just gotta work on consistency. Interestingly, this -14 was with 4-8MPH, but my -13 was with 11-14mph so it is possible even in higher wind conditions.

I suppose i better start getting a couple of practice rounds in, the last time i played this was a while ago on doyleys pga tour and can't even remember what i hit there. That was only three rounds i think and thats the only time i've ever played it.Think i might have had 1 practice round on it before the tournament but its a nice course should be fun.But then again it all depends on the day,Ive seen me put 4 or 5 practice rounds in on a course and even a practice round 10 mins before i go play a tournament and on the practice round hit -10 -11 then on the tornament round 10 mins later hit -5.Its when the nerves get to you is what i enjoy and thats what happens in the big tournaments.

Just shot 12 under myself. Surprisingly thats the low on the ps4. Also I thought that this is the Sony Open in Hawaii this weekend. I bribe my caddy to come back with a trip to Hawaii. Even though my caddy is a dog she watches Hawaii Five O every week with me, I don't think she is going to believe we're in Hawaii (looks like Maine) lol

Decided to give North Atlantic Links at Pominville a go and apparently I have played this course before. I don't remember it but apparently I scored like -12 on it, which seems really odd for me since I normally don't play well at a course with such high winds and tight tight tight fairways.
I ended up with a -8 with 12-16mph winds. I'm actually quite tickled with that score considering I really don't remember anything about the course.
The greens seem fairly flat, so if you can get it reasonably close you can putt for birdies.. but gotta get into the fairway first.
