Lantern Lights Cove – Final Highlands Theme 7390 yards Green speed: Medium 158 Fairways: medium/firm Greens: medium This course is my first attempt at the Highlands Theme. Had some fun with this one so expect a couple of unusual holes. Just happen to enjoy a course with a lot of hole variety. Hope you feel the same. My favorite hole may be the short 460 par 5. Pretty straight forward hole but I have a feeling that birdies will not be the norm. Be sure to look out for “Griff's” tree on the par5 9th hole. (It may look dangerous but trust me it is merely cosmetic. (I think) ).

Thought this was outstanding, despite playing in 14-15mph winds for the most part. I was wondering why on earth the 460-yard hole was a Par 5, and then proceeded to bogey it Favourite hole was probably the 7th - thought the view for the second shot was superb.

Played this this morning. Great course, beautiful setting and pretty much everything was very well done. The par 3 10th (I think) was just a stunning hole. I also played it in 15-20 mph winds so it certainly made some of the small greens even smaller, which made it even more fun. Great job, really enjoyed it.

Thanks for the comments guys. It really helps to hear that feedback. The holes that you mentioned are a couple of my favorites as well. The 10th is a classical par 3 while the par 4th 7th is one of my attempts to create a hole that is not something that you see every day here on TGC. A fun hole every time I played it in testing. It is in part (the drive up the hill to an overlook) in memory of an actual golf hole that always scared the bejebers out of my in my youth.

This is a tremendous course. Highlands to be sure, but still gives off a scent of parkland coziness.
My favorite drives were on 11 and 14.
From a golfing perspective, I really liked how if I didn't fit my target on the green, my ball often rolled off in the other direction. Some might not like that, or some of the double-breaking putts that causes, but I thought it was great.
Awesome job, sir. Great course. Instant fave

Thanks for playing and comments Ballgame. However, don't go scaring the folks out there with balls rolling off the greens. The greens are not flat but I try hard to stay away from those greens where if you miss a little your ball rolls, and rolls, and rolls away down the hill. I hate that! I do like putts with a double break. So satisfying when you sink those. I also stay away from firm greens for my courses. Like to give players a chance to stick the landing and even spin one back into the hole now and again. Another satisfying experience.

Oh, yeah yeah yeah. I don't mean rolling off the green. I just mean rolling away from the hole as opposed to closer. Nothing unfair, just requiring some accuracy to make birdies

The Final version of this is currently being used in the finals of my Community Cup along with The House On The Cliff, playing a lot tougher than I expected it to! Beautiful course fitting for a final.

Terrific course, visually it's just a joy to play, lots of eye candy. What I liked about this course is that its not just a mindless blast off of the tee, you have to consider your shot and club selection. The greens play very fair and it was just a lot of fun, even in the 14-16 mph I played. Top to bottom, this course is a gem.
