I was inspired while building a few holes of Oakmount to work in the countryside theme and build holes close together and almost side by side. Still a work in progress like about 6 other projects. Must be my ADD. This will definitely be my entry into the taste contest as I'm 14 rough holes into this.
I'm going for a fairway is premium type course, fairways will be generous, missing fairways however will be a struggle, as I'm going for deep rough boarding all fairways after a small strip of light rough. I will not have any fairway bunkers and few green side bunkers.
The course will play easy if the fairways are hit as the greens will be large and generous, however multi tiered.
Welcome to Oak Island.............
Hole #1 455 Yard par 4. Finally complete.
Hole #2 644 yard par 5.
Hole #3 216 yard par 3.
Hole 4 483 yard par 4

Working on the rough in of the finishing holes. I'm worried about the object limit, so I stopped all planting grass and flowers on the 5th, I have all but 3 holes roughed in, once I finish roughing them all in, I'll start more planting grass and flowers till I hit the limit working back from the 18th. Once I hit it I will rob peter to pay paul. Then I have the views and the all the water front to take care of.
The finishing holes will all play near water.
Here's a rough in of 16. Par 3 152 yards.

Some cool looking planting there on the first hole. Flowers are going to really liven up these courses.

I believe this taste contest is about to produce some real gems. I know I have would never before have spent 2 hours building a tee block, or an hour building some far off view that's not even in play. From the looks of things, everyone else is dedicating as much time to such things.
It's going to be fun to watch the results.
