Ahhhh, the Hamptons ... Life of the rich and not so famous ... it's not just for the snobs anymore.
No longer are you going to have a gallery of hackers crammed on a course, following the likes of OBAMA around the links.
That's because, this is Not "THE HAMPTON's" ... It's the Hamptons East ...
Forged out of the fire, rises the Phoenix ... Rebirth from my very first course I created in the GNCD (Forest Lake Country Club - we all had our first course)
So anyway, I was joking around with a fellow player/budding designer ... and the conversation came to how I got to where I was in designing ... and asked what my first course looked like ... so we played it ...
during this play, I came up with the idea of a remake. The tools had improved and we had better themes to enjoy ... like a new canvas with fresh pastels ...
So, I imported the course and threw it on the fire ... heating it up till it was malleable, to be beaten into a new vision off the original ... a feeble attempt at designing.
Little of the "original" course remained, just some of the basic land mass ad a few of the original Hole layouts, but the grounds, fairways and greens have all underwent the taste of the bulldozer.
The end results: A very scenic, Par 71, Oceanside course. Playing in under 6370 yards, this firm fairway, medium firm greens with medium fast putting, offers an relatively easy paced round in the serene windswept coastal heaven, enhanced with the ambiance of Seagulls, and ocean's pounding surf.
There is a a few challenges to be had as if the wind picks up, the course can be a bit more interesting to navigate. But for the expert golfer, it will be a birdie fest, for the novice golfer, it will be an enjoyable course with several short, drive-able par 4's to test their meddle ...
There is plans for future pins placements and tee box options.
Depending on the community and feedback.
Enjoy your round.
