Just finished my real life home course, Miami Beach Golf Club. All yardages and elevations are correct. This countyside theme layout is 6872 yards with apar 72. Set amid natural wetlands and numerous natural and manmade lakes, it can challenge players of all skill levels . Please give it a go. All feedback is welcomed and appreciated . Perhaps it could be used for wWeb.com or Champions Tour , I hope .

You wont recognize it from playing this one in game.
I was going to take screen shot comparisons and figured I would not bother.
No offense intended, I struggle just as hard with creating real life versions of courses, and with the designer tools, but the 2 here bear no resemblance to each other. i.e you have a bunker completely blocking the fairway on 1, the fairways are jagged, postage stamp green with 2 small pot bunkers.
If you don't mind a little advice from a struggling designer, design your own, get used to the tools before tackling a real life course.

Steve, first no offense taken. However, I do take exception to some of your statements. The comment that "you wouldn't recognize it" That is quite harsh. After having played the course more than a 100 times, it may not be perfect but it isn't that far off. Also when play testing, I found no instance where there was a bunker completely blocking a fairway. While I appreciate feedback, and consructive advice, I feel that all you gave was a punch in the gut. I understand it isn't perfect, but Ithink for us novice designers, its important to know not only where we need to improve but also where we did okay. Again , thank you for your feedback and no offense taken.

Maybe it's a platform issue then, but the first hole, the fairway bunker completely blocks the fairway. In RL the bunker is off to the side and it looks like there is 50 yards of fairway between it an the pond, your recreation the bunker goes all the way to the pond.
The course looks like a course that would be great to recreate, I'm just suggesting we get a little more experience in the designer before tackling a beauty such as this. |

I just double checked and on PS4 it is fine . Hope I didn't come off like a jerk, but I felt this was a vast impovement on my previous courses.

Ohhhhh you mean the bunker about 400 yards off the? Yeah that one is a bit close on the right side. Good eye!

It likely is a vast improvement, the more practice in the designer the better everyone gets. We cannot delete, we cannot edit using the same name, which in my opinion is a real shame here, because we end up with a bunch of courses saying v.2 v.3 v.4 etc and junking up a good name.
If I may be so bold as to suggest creating a couple courses, then go back and tackle this, I would be first to step foot on it and give an honest review. As you can see I do not pull any punches, but I will give tremendous praise and publish such as widely as possible when it is due. I will also do my utmost to tell you why if something is wrong.
I took a sh-it kicking with my recreation of a real course, they are the hardest to do, especially ones with as much information out there as this one, however the fake ones that look real are better to play, and look better and easier to do, it's a good place to start and learn the designer.
Don't let this get you down, I'm sure you would like to see this course recreated perfectly, as would I, and I'm sure you are the right person for the job.
IMHO you can gather more knowledge from a negative review with reasons then a positive one without.
