Now open for play!!!
The 18 hole championship design of Settlers Run Country Club takes advantage of the smooth landscape and natural wetlands to create a challenging layout that golfers of all levels will enjoy, taking inspiration from Alister MacKenzie’s work at famed Royal Melbourne and Kingston Heath, and use of the natural undulating terrain make this a unique golf experience.
The bunkering is a key feature of the course using dramatic sand faced bunkers for which the Melbourne sandbelt is renowned for so grab your clubs!!
If you play smart and you'll score well, leave it on the wrong side of the hole and you will struggle!
Enjoy and let me know how you find your round/s!!
Cheers!!

Just had a chance to play this gem today. It's good to see firm conditions are still being used and used well. The course has a very unique look and there is a very high level of attention to detail with the use of the grasses and shrubs. I really enjoyed the layout from tee to green and the bunkering is fantastic. The course's best defense is probably the greens, by no means are they unfair but there is a lot of movement in them, and where you leave the approach shots it pretty critical. Just a fantastic course, and I would definitely recommend people get out and play it.

Is this the Settlers Run we have in South east Melbourne or a created course?

Is this the Settlers Run we have in South east Melbourne or a created course? Totally fictional course mate, struggled for a name for a while and in the end couldn't go past it, the name inspired the clubhouse and a few other things

Hey Rod, you nailed it with this one, IMO one of the best firm courses out there. Really enjoyed my round here, and I'll be back for sure

A good argument in favour of fast, firm courses. Plays fair but tough if your accuracy is poor. Excellent course 10/10.

Very very nice course Rod. Had a real nice flow to it and the countryside theme seemed to fit this course perfect.

Hey guys,
I've just published a Members version that you'll find a little more relaxing so give it a play if firm and fast isn't your thing!
Slowed down the green speeds, dialed back the fairway firmness a bit and the greens are medium in firmness too.
Settlers Run CC (Members Med)
Enjoy!

Rod,
Has a chance to play the course tonight and thought you did an amazing job. Some of the holes were absolute stunners (8,9,11,13,17,18). I also really liked the subtle strategy on many holes with firm greens angled to favour one side of the fairway or the other. 17th had some nicely placed bunkers that forced a bail out right which left a tougher angle into the green. The green however can hold a shot from that side if played perfectly. I was able to fade one in just short and catch the left to right slope to access the back right pin. Made the putt for a much needed eagle! I also really liked the clubhouse area with the rolling fairway and the garden furniture. Made for as nice setting overlooking the 13th (I think) green. Feel this course captures the sandbelt feeling more than my effort, the bunkering seems to be a bit more on point. Either way, awesome job!
