Does anyone have a general rule for how much loft to use when approaching a firm green? I constantly end up either rolling way off the green or under hit it with the wrong Club.

I doubt anyone is going to give you any hard fast rules for this. That's the reason firm/fast is often referred to as "Lottery Golf". But I would say, if the greens are not large enough or the pins not far back enough to hold or get close using a regular shot, use the most loft with the biggest club (iron) you can. Just be sure to allow for extra wind correction because the sucka will be in the air longer. Tough to do given how hard it is to hit a super lofted shot straight or to calculate the wind correction. The other common methods are to bounce in the fiarway and run up onto the green.. Or play for chips if you are a strong short game player.

Doubtful has a Twitch stream specifically dealing with fast greens. It's very informative.

Depends on club, wind, and elevation. Also factor in slope of green. Then again, firm greens aren't everyone's cup of tea. I usually play them 25-30 yards short. Probably why I will never win.

Daxon you just aren't using the ghosts correctly...LOL Disclaimer: before a few usual suspects come by to talk about the badness that is ghost watching or borderline cheating, this was only a joke. I only used a ghost once... and didn't even inhale. I swear!!

Not elite, but I can be good for -8 or better depending on my b%& ass putter!
