Cnoic Lionn DubhFrom the maker of a golf course with a prison for sandbaggers and an Island for lads Exiled due to bad behavior I present to you a golf course with a serious story. Cnoic Lionn Dubh which literally translates as Black Depression Hills but who's true meaning is Melancholy Hills was designed over the course of probably 4 months. Anytime my head was in a bad place I went to the GNCD and used this course to take my focus off what was wrong with the world. A very short 6700y plays alot longer you need to be able to shape shots watch the fly overs and pick your routes around the course. The course is set up withh what you would expect with a Thursday pin set up. The course has a bleak outlook covered in mist. lots of highs and lows twists and turns. Many pit falls and hurdles. basically the thought behind the course was for it to simbilise life in general but more about the struggles in life that are amplified to all with Mental health issues. The course ends with the 18th (obviously) which is a uphill struggle that once concurred the sense of relief and joy that the struggle is over. Now been one of my courses there has to be some humor . Buggies have been banned on the course ever since the pond at the front of 15 basically became a collection point for them and the lawsuits where getting out of hand. And the 12 i think has a huge plastic beach. Why ? Play below . All comments welcome but this course holds a place in my heart so anything negative won't bother me .

Moe, you have to have the most imaginative mind in the damn designer, the holes you come up with are incredible!!!!!! Im sure some people dont like the shot shaping your course requires, however I love it. This course reminds me so much of Innis in the way you have to dissect it before you can attack it, Moe you are one of my favorite designers and this is another over the top design!!!!!!!!!!!

Very pretty & imaginative track Moe...... Bit claustrophobic at times for me but made for some challenging shots especially if straying off the fairways. Had low winds for my round... 4 under par but tried some really silly shots I wouldn't have in a tourney.... like coming off the clubhouse roof on the ninth High winds & I think more than a few holes might suffer from a fair playabilty issue.... dunno, I'm not that good a player, so just guessing really. 3 tough opponents & courses (looking at the threads) in your group... best of luck progressing mate.

I Played in a hurricane and shot -7 she plays fine in winds only the par 5s become 3 shotters but ive layed them so 1 will suffer one will benifit and the other has a crosswind . What can I say but I sleep in a coffin and love watching people think also Dan Waring shot -17

Fun course. Definitely a shot shaper. I needed GPS to find some greens. Loved the planting and feel. Nice greens with obvious spots to avoid (I didnt). Look forward to seeing how this advances

There are two ways to play a Moe course. With immense focus or a laugh. I used the latter and scored horribly. If you don't focus and think, you will regret pretty much all your shots and end up a mile from where you wanted to, but you'll smile while doing so. If you focus you can definetly score on it as if you play conservative most parts are actually quite forgiving.
Good luck m8! I enjoyed it very much!

Nice course Moe. I don't pretend to know you but from reading your posts on the forums the course will update seem to reflect your personality. Something like "I am going to be different, and have a laugh and if you don't like it go $&)& yourself". But I really got a kick out of the course. Shot a -9 with one double bogie and one bogie. I had Sam for a ghost and practically peed myself when he hit the ball off the clubhouse roof. I could not resist and did it too. Only to realize this put us both in the wrong fairway. I'm guessing if you don't try and be a hero on this one and play the shots the course gives you that every hole can be a birdie opportunity. But it's just too much fun to try and get cute. I don't think I have ever hit a tee shot on purpose with a full two boxes of fade or draw before. But I did it at least twice on this one. I can see this one in RRCC soon. Or CC-Am.
Definitely a Moe original. Good work!!!

I played so many of these tee shots the same: - club down
- take a second look
- settle on the sensible shot
- take a third look, just to be sure
- say "eh...@!$# it..."
- turn 45-90 degrees right/left, drag the shot shape meter 2+ boxes right/left and up
- club up to driver
- become a hero
I do not advise this strategy...though it is fun to see if you can cut corners off some of the tees. As the others have said, I enjoyed the creativity here Moe. I will likely go back and play it the way it was designed to be played, with at least half a brain, but even while playing hit-and-hope golf it was still a fun round. Great work, thanks for your effort in creating a really thoughtful and unique round of golf for the community, and good luck advancing out of your group. Now I'm just looking forward to Griff's review so we can play the " every time he says 'tree,' drink" game
