Occasionally I will flop from 60 ft or more on greens because I feel it's easier to control my distance. Rarely do I make them.
Now If the tgc decides to make it illegal to flop or chip on the green I have no problem with that.

its not about making them dlw, its about preventing a 3 putt, 3 putts are realistic, but by chipping/floping out longer shots while on the green rather than putting, minimizes your chances of 3 strokes on the green. and that is where gripe comes from.
if you deserve to 3 putt because your long range putting stinks, you damn deserve a 3 putt.
