Nearly all the grass planting was done with the multi-plant tool so I guess that's the problem. Seems planting this way doesn't push up the plant meter the way it should so you're unaware of the problem. Should have realised though when it started slowing the course designer down. Maybe they need to add " KEEP OFF THE MULTI-PLANTED GRASS " to the signs menu Thanks for the offer Doyley, but I'd like to keep the course in my listings so I can recall it for making any alterations or further versions. Now to the next problem. I can never get the area delete tool to work. Multi delete works fine, but I don't fancy having to remove all the grass with that. Am I doing something wrong or does area delete just not work at all. You have to make the area delete brush quite large to get it to work most of the time. Takes a little bit of trial and error to make sure you're not deleting stuff you want to leave, but make the brush larger and go from there. You may have to keep making it larger til it works, but you'll eventually find the threshold. I believe the way it works is that for each item HB takes the X and Y position and basically takes height of 0... and it is this point that the area select or delete uses. You basically have to imagine it being a sphere not a circle. Basically it is broken but if you have low ground then it appears to work fine, if you are high up you need it much wider to compensate. As Griff says trial and error but I think it helps to basically add the height of the objects to the radius, if that makes sense. Griff's advice is solid. Good luck 'fixing' it

Think I get what you mean. The circle on the screen is always at 0 height e.g. water level, so you have to expand it so that the top of the sphere is large enough to cover the height you're working at.
Thanks I'll give it another go.

Course published.
Took out some of the heaviest areas of multi-planted grass without affecting the overall look of the course. Think I reduced the file size to around 3500 KB and it went through at that.
Thanks again for the help, THE MONARCH OF THE GLEN is now out there for your pleasure.
