I have a Rift - use it for racing games a fair bit (the killer app for VR) but really can't get used to using it for playing any other games at all - a good monitor still wins the vast majority of the time. Can't say I'm not dissapointed to hear it's for Vive only But suspect it will be another one that I'd "go wow" at for 30mins and then move back to a good old 2D screen for long term play. It didn't mention much on how the club would be swung - but am assuming as it's Vive that it's full swing of the arms using the motion controllers. Sounds fun ...and wild Also it's a separate game without the course designer, so sadly no good for TGCT? Which again means it probably won't get played much beyond initial demo. I'd save your £769's for now chaps. vive only? that's a bit silly i have a rift as well and use it mainly for seated experiences (AC and flight sims). to me, that's where it shines this might be a fun demo and a little side game but i can't see it being taken all that serious

The rift and PSVR both can't run it

Full swing, while being awesome, won't get played much. I still think when it comes down to it, most people like to sit down & slob when they play games for extended periods of time. VR headset with a controller perhaps, but standing up and making 72 swings a round - just can't see it. Like the eye toy, kinect and even the wii before it - destined for occasional bits of fun when you have guests who haven't seen it before. (AC and flight sims). to me, that's where it shines AC is indeed the bomb. Elite was awesome to behold, but the game was only fun for a little while. What flight sim do you play? I'll take a recommendation from someone that likes TGC & AC!

The rift and PSVR both can't run it like... now? i mean the rift is getting touch controllers in a few months PSVR has them now and still wouldn't happen. Both require the sensors to be visible. A full swing would make the sensors disappear behind body parts. Vive has the sensors around the room which nullified this. It will come for the others, but not anytime soon

PSVR uses awful move controllers and really isn't the same level of the vive and rift in terms of tracking. vive uses the lighthouses but the touch controllers ships w/ the added sensor which will work just fine for tracking

They do need and undoubtedly will be upgraded at some point Still feel the rift will not be accurate enough to the mm which will mean it won't work. I don't have those fears with Vive but that's what you pay for

They do need and undoubtedly will be upgraded at some point Still feel the rift will not be accurate enough to the mm which will mean it won't work. I don't have those fears with Vive but that's what you pay for i mean... have you used any of them? the rift tracks just fine. vive certainly has the more clever technology but i haven't heard a single person talk about tracking being a weak spot for oculus and oculus touch. this whole rift v. vive debate is months old. it's not nearly as pronounced as it was when they were first released. i know plenty of people with both and everyone seems to love their investment. competition is good for everyone. they're both the same price, perform the same functions... i mean there's slight positives and negatives to both but it's not like one is clearly superior to the other vive has clever tracking. oculus is more comfortable and facebook is paying tons of money for exclusives (not a fan of exclusives but VR needs quality games and facebook is ponying up the money to make it happen). i mean we're talking slight negatives/positives here. it's not even a debate worth having in the oculus and vive communities as of late now PSVR is great because it gets people that don't own a PC a chance to use VR but it's not really the same level as the rift or vive. you say it's cheaper, which is true, but it also has a bit less tech and is limited (negatively or positively) to what a PS4 can muster up. it uses 6+ year old move controllers and, by every account, is nowhere near the other 2 in terms of tracking ability. nvidia is killing it right now w/ progress. minimum spec VR PC's are dropping in price by the day, i think it's like $400 to get a min-spec VR-ready PC. i don't really consider price to be a huge factor to anyone looking to "early adopt" VR. PC gaming has always been an expensive hobby. I have like $400 in my monitors, i'll have like $800 in my VR setup when touch arrives... do i use my VR twice as much as i use my monitors? no... does that mean it's not worth it? no... not even sure what we're talking about here, i just hope this is available on rift devices when touch comes out. i won't be playing tournaments w/ this thing. i seriously doubt a full swing w/ touch/vive controllers is going to feel at all natural but, as a tech demo (something to try for a bit, show to people new to VR) it might be a fun time

This is how it looks. Performance issues + vr don't mix and this guy has sli 1080tis. Looks like it might be fun for a mess about but anything past that forget it.
link is being weird. go to his videos and youll find it there

Room scale VR not all upsides...
I kinda wish I could've considered the Vive tbh, but I have a tiny cock. Room! I meant room. Room.

Does looks amazing. And frustrating! My real golf skills are much more limited than my computer game golf skills... +15's would be the norm for me, much like the dude demo-ing
