Hi everyone,
I guess I need to post something here as I am quite active in the community.
I've had this feeling for a few weeks now. I've been trying to play through it, but I'm just burnt out with TGC right now. My play has shown it, and it's frustrating. My TGC streams have been very lacklustre and I'm sorry to my viewers because I really appreciate you watching.
So I'm going to go on a bit of a hiatus from TGC. I'm not quite sure what that entails yet, or how long this will last..but I know that my TGC playing time and community involvement will be limited for the time being.
I'll still be around on the forums, and streaming other games on my personal twitch channel (I REALLY appreciate some of you guys watching me play other games, its a lot of fun and I hope you continue to watch...especially my F1 season!)
For now, TGCTLive! is in hiatus for a bit, I will still try to do the podcast occasionally, but I think Dawn Patrol will be stopping for a while.
Anyway, just wanted to say another HUGE thank you to everyone in this amazing community. This is the best community run site I have ever seen and I still want to be a small part of it. I would have never thought when I joined that I would become one of the more recognizable names in the community, and I have enjoyed the last 18+ months very much, but for now....I just need a TGC break.
Hopefully with the TGC2 beta, I will start to get back to status quo, but only time will tell.
Alright, that's enough of me babbling. I don't need any replies to this, not looking for any attention here, just thought I would let everyone know and to thank you for a fantastic time that hopefully isn't over for good.
Andre

Who are you again? I've watched your streams for a long time Andre and definitely felt enthusiasm dwindling lately. I ran into this months ago and took about 5-6 weeks off. It really helped me and I hope the same happens for you. Thanks for all your contributions here at TGCT. All the best with your upcoming wedding. See you when TGC2 rolls around!

And now, the awful truth of this story.
Andre's ball and chain is making her own wedding gown.
She needs a model to wear it while she makes alterations.
There's only two of them in their apartment.
I'll let you extrapolate from there.

2 years a long time for one game. I usually feel a couple weeks is a good recovery but everybody is different. A lot of good games just came out as well. Recharge the batteries and see you in a bit Andre!

Yup, same with me. I'm also taking a hiatus from TGC....
To code all these new features! :-) Seriously, I am backing away from playing so I can use my free time to build out some new features and requests from the team.
I hope to get back playing in the winter when tennis season is over.

I know you said don't reply, but...I think I told you this once before in a previous post, but watching you stream way back is part of the reason I joined here, and I'm so glad I did. I have never met anyone here in person, and probably won't as many of us are literally spread all over the globe. This is by far the best community and you're a HUGE part of that. I will continue to check in on your streams as I usually do, and can't wait to see you designing for all of us when TGC2 is released next year Congratulations again with your upcoming wedding and enjoy some other games for a bit. Thank you for all that you've done for all of us here and we'll see you in a bit.

Good luck Andre!! Sometimes a break is what a guy needs for sure. Hopefully TGC2 will bring back that spark you've given everyone else here. I'm sure you'll get the itch to design in a month or two so hopefully will see another course from you. Winters can be awfully boring sometimes if you know what I mean.

I think an awful lot of us have hit the "going through the motions" phase until TGC2 hits.
You need something to play for to stay committed - and it's those guys comfortably inside the Top 100, but not near the Top 20, who probably suffer the most.
Unlikely to win, unlikely to make the Ryder Cup team (assuming they are American/European), but not in any danger of losing their card either.
It's a grind

Thank you for all that you've done for all of us here and we'll see you in a bit. Wish I could have managed to say it as well as bassman70's put it. We'd all be playing in isolation either in our man caves or mothers' basements, with only 1/1000th of the number of great courses to play on, and only very incrementally improving, were it not for TGCT and the massive benefit that the community here provides: be it game tips, stunning new courses, the exchange of ideas, and the plain ol' camaraderie that comes from hanging out on Twitch, commiserating in the forums after rough outings, or celebrating fine finishes here and there. Andre, I'm a no-name when it comes to course design. But I nonetheless love the process of taking an idea from nothingness, and seeing it take shape on screen. My first few experiences with the GNCD were exercises in fumbling around. And then I watched your Course Design vids. That got me started enjoying the whole process. I used to very much enjoy watching PBS's Bob Ross paint his "happy little trees" - watching you design on line brought back the same feeling. So thanks for that. And TGCT Live? Always been a highlight in the week. Made me feel a little more "connected" to what was going on beyond the deepest cockles of the CC-E tour. :-) I hope you'll get the chance to re-charge, and rediscover the enjoyment that your participation must have brought you (and countless others here) in the first place. Cheers from the other side of the Port Mann!
