For those like myself who have nothing left to play for this week, I've set up next week's practice tours.
Wagtunes Web 45-A Wagtunes Web 45-B Wagtunes Web 45-C
Please ignore the ones marked 1, 2, and 3. They have the wrong Thursday course.
This has been a public service announcement.
Thank you for your patronage and don't forget to tip your waitress on the way out.
** EDIT ** This one is probably going to change again. One of the days has a par 71 instead of a par 72. So you can probably forget these as well.

I think last time I played this course it was not as firm, either that or I shot lights out in that round and did nothing in practice. Wind and pin positions day two I couldn't keep anything on the greens.

So, is this like the part of the schedule where guys just want to blow their brains out? What has me just slightly puzzled is why they have the firm setups on the first 2 days. I can't even break par on day 1 because of the pin positions, almost every one tucked. I have zero clue how to play Thursday. Friday, not so bad. Pins are mostly at the back of the greens. Shot 7 under on my last practice round. But it's moot if I can't even break par on day 1. I mean it's not like you can even land short on the fairways because almost every pin has a bunker right in front of it.
Anyway, I'll either figure it out or I won't.
CC is starting to look very attractive these days. LOL.

I was under par on the first two barely, and could easily go over with hard winds or bad approaches. I'm wondering if the scores are going to be much lower across the board, or if the top guys here know how to play this and I don't.

Well, boredom and spare time can be a wonderful thing, sometimes. I decided to take one more crack at day 1. I studied each green as I played it to see if there was any place I could land that ball that would at least give me some hope of coming away with a birdie and if not, at least par. Well, long story short, I shot 5 under about 5 minutes ago. Considering I hadn't been able to break par on this day, that's a significant improvement.
So what I'm going to do, when it comes time to play this one, is do what I did with the course I had to play to get my Web card, which was also a brutal piece of work with firm greens the first two rounds. I'm going to make a play chart for each hole. Reference it before teeing off and follow it to the letter. I have a feeling that 10 or 11 under might sneak in on this one. I'm shooting 7 under pretty regularly on day 2, which is much easier. So if I can pull a 4 under on day one, that should squeak me in.
We'll see if a similar work ethic pays off.
I mean heck, what have I got to lose?

I think I'm going to only practice the first two rounds until the actual event.

Either way, as long as I have my landing areas down for each hole, IF I can get close to them, I should be okay. The only winds that give me major problems are the SE and SW winds. Everything else I pretty much have down. Those combined with short distances over 90 yards and under 120 yards are a major pain for me. I usually close my eyes and pray on those ones.

I think par may just be a good score on this course if the wind blows.

-8 for me first round including a ridiculous slice drive into water.
Putting was outrageous holed pretty much everything - course is tough.
Having said that its the type I usually do well on - hoping for a top10 this week

Can't wait for tomorrow morning (Saturday) so I can be done with this one. These days it takes a lot for me to dislike a course but this one has tried my patience to the limit. I honestly just have no clue how to play that first round. Almost every pin is tucked and protected by a bunker. Or the fairways are so twisted you can't get a decent tee shot off without having an approach close to 200 yards. Add the firm greens and I honestly just want to tear my hair out of my head. Would love to see a stream of this one so I could maybe have a prayer of playing it even remotely decently.
Anyway, I just want to be done with this one. There is no way I'm making the cut on this thing. So the sooner I get the rounds over with the sooner I can start practicing next week's course, though I have a feeling that coming down the stretch they're all going to be this tough.
Yeah, CC is looking real nice right about now.

I played the A course and got +2 on each of the first 2 rounds, then followed by -9 in each, 3 and 4. So, I decided to play the first 2 rounds of B and got -4 and -5. I learnt that i must lay up, especially the 10th tee, I kept hitting that bloody tree and landing the bunker.

Wow what a crazy course. I started with 6 straight pars and felt I should have made a couple so was feeling a little down. I ended up holing out from something like 190 yds on No. 7 for an eagle on a shot you didn't have much room for error with the ramp to the right there. I missed a bunch of putts I normally make on the back nine, but also avoided any bogeys so pretty happy with a (-6) first round even though I felt like I could have had a bunch more birdies.
