A photo below, taken from Ottawa on Canada Day in 1967 say's it all for me. Ottawa, a small city in the middle of fckn nowhere and a couple hundred miles from anywhere. Ottawa, our capitol, was built there, because at the time it was felt it was to far from the American border which proved to be true. The Americans chose to instead raid Toronto. The British with the Canadians in retaliation burned their fckn Whitehouse to the ground, but first ate the feast and got sh-it faced on their booze laid out for the leaders who had fled. That's the History my friends. Now we are the closest of allies with the longest free border separating the 2 countries in the world. Yeah, we Canadians are pretty proud of our beautiful Country, always have been, and hopefully always will be.

Considering your biggest world export is hockey, I would think you'd celebrate this some day other than the 3 days of Canadian summer.

One of the nice things about having dual citizenship is I can celebrate today on Parliament Hill and then again on Monday over in New York.

There isn't much more Canadian then half the country having their eyes glued to 4 grey-hairs discussing which overrated free agent might be getting overpaid by which Canadian nhl team... Only for them to sign somewhere where the temperature never drops below 20 degrees Oh Canada!
