Well for a practice run I shot a total -22. Should have been a bit better, especially on R4. But hopefully knowing where I went wrong will help out in the actual tournament itself. Hopefully the winds are pretty similar, if not a bit lighter.
Really like this course though.

As much as I like it, this course has got my number at the moment. Not overly worried because I rarely practice well, but best I've shot so far is -2. Seem to have a calamity on every round! Hopefully it'll be alright on the night...

Sure am glad I took the time to play a practice round in my first week up on the Web.com Tour. I have a feeling you aren't supposed to end up down here: Ended up with a nice 11 on this one. I couldn't even figure out how to whack it out of here and ended up going completely sideways. I wanted to force a drop, but couldn't figure out how to do it. Got into all kinds of other trouble too, but made some birdies.

Problem is there's similar adventures to be had on other holes too! Good luck when you tee off, at least you haven't got to worry about making the cut to earn your card

1 stroke penalty for grounding the club in a hazard... a 12 for you!

What a strange course, never have seen anything like it IRL. I like the fact that safe play off the tee is rewarded, but there's really no other option on some of those winding fairways. Shot -12 on my first practice round, no complaints about that other than the fact that it took me at least 25% longer to play than most courses, but that was just due to having to figure out where to aim the tee shot on nearly every hole.

This whole design started off as a practice track for shot shaping, but somewhere during the design I figured I'd make it a 18 hole course and release it. So yeah. Many of the holes would never see the light of day in real life. At least not this many on the same course.

The fairways definitely make this course unique. I have enjoyed the challenge through the first 3 rounds. One thing that frustrated me with the fairways, wasn't the width, but the contours in some of the landing zones. A couple of times I hit a draw or fade with the driver, play right where I wanted, only to have it kick off into the rough.
I feel like this course would be much easier with softer fairways, however the difficulty is perfect for Web.Com as is IMO

I will make a note when I play my 4th round.
One that comes to mind is the reachable par 4, that has a mid iron length lay up option. The fairway sloped from left to right, kicking many layups into the right rough. I don't mind it, because it forces some course knowledge and the second time I played it to the left side of the fairway. However some might call it unfair when a layup shot down the middle is punished, leaving you in the rough with a forced carry over water.

The definition of unfair is the #7 hole in Ecliptic Bay.
