If a course chosen for an event had two nines with the same par pattern. ie 1&10, 2&11, etc had the same par, could the nines be reversed to make a 10th tee start that follows the same scorecard?

That would throw off the hole-by-hole stats for the tournament. Not sure how much people care about that.

Haha... I've thought over this idea in the past as well. Just the sort of thing I like. I had University Links initially setup so that 1 round had 1 par 4 as a par 5 and another swapped the other day. That was just around the time the API came in so that was a no go. Since I've thought of doing something similar that would still fit the par in as the same. It wouldn't actually have to be a hole 9/9 swap, if the premise of the course was 6 sets of 3 holes that all ran par 4, par 3, par 5 but then were all interchanged each round it might be quite fun. Or you could even swap the last 4 holes of each nine or something depending on routing.
As ErixonStone says it would mess up the hole-by-hole stats... however I have beef with those stats as they are anyway. For example, I setup a par 4 to play short in one or two rounds of the Euro event at Marazion this week. So 2 rounds it is a drivable par 4 with the right wind and possible eagles, off the other tee it could be a much harder hole. Even a subtle pin change can completely change the difficulty of a hole, so hole by hole stats are pretty irrelevant between rounds IMO. I hope we can see these stats broken up between rounds

I hope we can see these stats broken up between rounds I pretty much think the major defining factor of the difficulty of a hole is the pin position - easier pins yield more birdies even on an overall harder hole, especially on this game. The idea of having blocks of holes is interesting, I'd like to see it done. I'm currently messing with the idea of making 3 or 4 nines on a plot and then picking the best 18 as a championship course, rather like at Prince's in Sandwich, England.

Played there several times in the past and absolutely love it. It is where my love for links golf was founded. Once shot one over gross around Dunes and Shores to win an Adult Junior event with my Dad. I played so well he only came in on 1 hole ... I think we got something like 48 points in stableford format so says something for what my handicap was at the time

Such a brilliant links layout, looks really stunning too!
