Hi.
When I finished my 6 rounds, I wished for PGA-tour if I was to make the cut. But I think I regret that choice, and would rather prefer the ET. I dont think it will be a problem anyways, as I will probably fall outside, but IF im lucky, is it possible to switch to ET instead? I dont stand a chance on any of the tours, but maybe it is easier to make the cut on ET? Or do you think it is of no consequence?
regards, Jan

At the moment we've had more PGA requests than Euro requests but we've had a significant number of Euro requests, so there is a chance you'd still get your first pick. If you wish to change your selection, send a request to Tim here on the forums via Private Message...I'm sure he can change your selection for you. Tim: tgctours.proboards.com/user/1

Anyway for us to check and make sure we chose the correct Tour we wanted?
I have finished Q-school and I am pretty sure I chose PGA Tour but would like to double check. This would save us all some problems come time to hand out cards. Odds are there are more mistakes out there.
Thanks

Surely there is no difference between the two tours ? There are no officially licensed courses on the game and both tours stand on equal footing in the real world.

Somehow I got it in my head that the top TOP players will be on the PGA tour, and I have not a chance in hell to compete with those guys. Most probably I will not stand a chance on the ET either, but maybe there will be a better chance to make the occasional cut there.
And I kind of like the links, even tho one can probably chose to play that one or two tournament, even when residing on the PGA-tour?

Correct, both of these two carry equal weight on the WGR (World Golf Rankings)... The only difference will be the courses. On a side note, of the 417 fully played rounds, there have been 276 PGA cards requested compared to 141 European cards.

Interesting - if % requested is uniform from top to bottom player, finishing 165 means you have hope for a PGA card (unless this is Friday morning fuzzy math)

I think some are thinking that if they join the ET, they will have a better chance at making cuts, champion tours, ect because there are fewer folks who they will be in contention with. For someone like me who will be fighting to make a cut regardless of what tour they are on, it could make a difference. That being said European courses are more Links style with huge pot bunkers and a tonne of wind, but the greens are huge and usually flatter. The greens do have undulations but breaks usually arne't as severe, so while you might have a 20 foot but with little break, that break may be three different ways!! Putting is truly an adventure on links courses. In the end it is about your preference.

Why do people think it will be mostly links courses? Has that been stated somewhere? I would expect a couple more than the PGA but having the majority on links wouldn't be realistic. I'm not supe familiar with the Euro tour though. Do they really play on that many links courses?

The Scottish Open and Open championship are on links courses, looks like the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship too going by the Tournament section on the main web page. Maybe one of the South African or Australian events is on links, but probably looking at less than 5 in a year. There will be more desert courses than links I'm guessing with Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar on the schedule.

No, it has not been stated anywhere that there will be majority of links-courses. I will take my share of blame for this rumour, as I mentioned it earlier in this post, as what I would prefer to play. But I would probably like to play the ET-style courses anyway, as this is where I live, and normaly play (it probably doesnt have anything to say), but I am more interested in the ET in RL, so it will be more fun to compete on the same continent. (AND I still suspect that the big-shots will compete on PGA-tour, and that it could be marginally easier to make the cut on ET... )

It has been stated somewhere, here in fact : www.tgctours.com/Course/Guidelines
European Tour
We are looking for a majority of links courses, with a few rural, alpine, and desert courses mixed in. Ideally, the European Tour will be comprised of about 70% links courses on the schedule, with the remaining 30% allocated to the rural, alpine, and desert themes. The courses for the European Tour will be mostly along the same difficulty levels as Web.com Tour events, with more difficult, PGA Tour level-difficulty courses played, particularly toward the end of the season during the Race to Dubai.
