-11, -6, -8, -7......-32 for event. Hope I cant get top 20 so I can keep chipping away towards top 10 on moneylist for year end to earn my PGA card. Cant seem to get a sponsor, so this is my best chance in the long haul. If you haven't played this event yet I highly recommend to take time and look at greens well before hitting approach shots on this course! a lot of movement in these greens obviously, can hurt you but also realy can help you make birdies and even some eagles if you play slopes correctly, a lot of pins allow balls to funnel to pins. pay particular attention to this on this course. Hope this helps someone in advance. Ssssshh NO TIPS!!!! Not the designers fault but several of my approaches have stopped dead on a red slope instead of rolling down to hole. What gives with that? Game physics need a tweak I feel.

Thanks for the heads up Moe but just lately I'm finding all sorts of ways to ruin my tournament besides this.

Pair of 63s to give a halfway total of -18. Finished my debut web event last week T16, so I'll be happy with something similar. Can't play the final 2 rounds until Thursday due to work, so I'll be sitting and watching until then. Good luck fellas, and use the slopes to your advantage on the greens

This course and pga West are the two courses that I have played the most. I love this course and was excited to see it on tour. I never know what sort of round I will have, i can play well or I can play badly so I really have no idea what will happen today, time to find out. Not the start I wanted with a par on the first, a short birdie putt with small break and I still managed to miss. My form recently has not been good, missing a lot of shots I should make, I hope that is something that will not play a major part in today's round. I had a similar putt on the second but this time I got it right, had I missed that, my confidence would have taken a big knock. On the third I took the option of going left from the tee, I thought it provided the better line into the green, this proved correct as a good approach left a six foot putt for birdie. The fourth is another hole with many options from the tee, I took the riskier option of distance this time and my ball rolled nicely to stay on the fairway. A over hit approach put me off the back of the green, my lie was good and was able to chip close for tap in birdie. Landing on the right part of the green was vital on five, I played my approach to the right of the flag, I had avoided the slope in front of the flag and got a little roll on the right hand slope to give me a ten foot birdie chance, I made the putt for what was a good birdie on a hole that could have caught me out. The sixth is an example of why I like the greens so much on this course, the slopes can be used to give an advantage, the slope behind the flag can be used to get the ball close to the flag. Mine did not roll back as much as I would have liked but I did take the birdie chance on offer. The seventh is a fairly straightforward par five and as long as you find the fairway, birdie is there for the taking, which is what I did. The low winds were helping on the first round, it was allowing me to hit the narrower parts of the fairway for easier shots to the green, this was the case on eight when my tee shot left me just forty yards from the flag and another birdie. My birdie streak came to a end on nine in the worst possible way, I played the slope behind the green badly and my ball rolled off the green rather towards the hole, a under hit chip and a lip out putt brought a disappointing bogey to finish what had been up to then a very good front nine.
The tenth brought par, just my second par of the day so far. I played the hole ok, I had a birdie putt, not a easy one but there was still a chance, I just missed but no complaints about par on that hole. I got my earlier dropped shot back on eleven which I think was a very important hole for me, not just because of getting the shot back but also for confidence, had I missed birdie here, I would have started doubting myself. In the end, it was a straightforward pitch and putt for birdie. I missed a great eagle chance on twelve, I read the lines of the greens so well on approach to leave myself just eight feet from the cup. I spent to long on the putt, second guessing myself, changing my mind about the line and in the end, I lipped out, still a safe birdie is always good. The long par three thirteenth brought a safe par before a terrible approach had me missing the green short on fourteen, a terrible flop had me off the green again leaving a chip shot for par, I lipped out, so close to getting away with it but bogey number two. I could only make par on fifteen and I was running out of holes to get that shot back so having a par five next was just what I needed. Like the earlier par five, I got the approach right, my eagle putt this time was fifteen feet but with less break than my earlier chance, I was not missing this one. I got my shot back and the bonus of another. I then do something completely stupid on seventeen to lose it again, birdie was not really on, to much break and downhill but I went for it anyway, hit the ball to hard and watched roll past the hole, missed my putt coming back and all my good work undone. I had the same type putt on the last, this time I made sure of par to finish eight under.
I played really well today, then silly mistakes cost me big time, my score should have been a lot lower. It's what I really like about this course, rewards are there for clever play but no matter how often I play it, I am still caught out. Still, it was a lot of fun, more work to be done to make the cut, less errors next time and I should be ok but you never know with Killarney, good luck all.

Round 1 got me off to a nice start with -10. Would have been -9 under at best only for I got lucky with a hole out for eagle on the approach on 18. Round 2 on the other started badly, struggling to keep par. Was thinking to myself the course is getting revenge on me for the 1st round lol. Finished with -7, should have been -9 but (can't remember which hole) I got a double bogie. Had a 5-6 foot putt for par and the game for some reason thought I gave a full power swing of the putter...ball rocketed past the hole and into the ruff , was lucky to get out of it with a double as that threw me right off for the last few holes. Should still hopefully make the cut with -17 though.

Oh and btw... Shot -8 and -12 on stream this morning. A bit of good luck in the 2nd round evened out my bad luck on the back 9 in the 1st round. Moe and DoubtfulObelisk joined on the strema this morning and it was a great time. This course is an absolute blast to play, love the creativity you can come up with

Pint of Murphys or Beamish, depending on what you prefer and if beer is not your thing, a nice selection of red lemonade is available, followed by a fine meal of Crubeens with Tripe & Drisheen.

Average -7 for R1 & disappointing +1 for R2, not my favourite course, & at least I won't be wasting my time playing R3 & 4 ?
